#14 Xseb Giantlaugh – Fractured Arm (MNG)
Having been kicked out of the XFL VIII Underworld by fredde_e's team, this match was meant as a little bit of a retaliation for the event of the previous year. That game (with one blitzer missing out, the other never making it past turn one and six guys never playing more then one half) was a bit of a one-sided slaughterhouse and so, my rats and little green buggers were sharpening their blades in preparation of the game.

With 'We live in a land down under' receiving, I felt a bit worried about the potential damage that might be inflicted in the first half. As Skitter Stab-Stab received quite a bit of attention (and throughout most of the game) from fredde_e's blitzers, the actual damage for the first couple of rounds was rather mild... Both teams knocked a few players down, moved a bit around and that's what went on for four turns, until a both down gave me the chance to 1-die (and knock down) his thrower ball carrier, dodge towards the ball and pick it up for a few paces towards his endzone. Cue the knock down of my ball carrier, who later stands up and picks up the ball, in order to go flat on his face on a failed GFI, a mere four paces from the endzone.
As eventually my Troll failed to activate in an attempt to 2-die blitz his other thrower ball carrier, the 1-0 was made and we eventually moved towards the second half.

This is where both my Sneaky Git goblins (motivated by the bribed refs) turned into gear and with fouls occuring a bit more often. An unfortunate KO of my tackle/mighty blow blitzer (who would not return for the remainder of the game), together with a KO'ed Skitter (from a foul) and meant I pushed forwards to score the 1-1 on turn four.
At this point, all we could do was run for it and inflict as much damage along the way. fredde_e's Troll got killed on a foul, apo'ed towards a niggle and then regenerated. With a hand-off failing, my players huddled around the ball in order to both delay the advance of the opposing team, as well as trying to decrease their numbers with a potential overtime in mind... All this worked well, up to the point where we had to... do something with the ball. A long pass by one of my Goblins landed into the hands of one of fredde_e's Goblins, who in their turn couldn't pass it for a touchdown.

Overtime it was and at this point, while receiving, my tackle/mighty blitzer and Skitter Stab-Stab failed to return. While their was still a numbers advantage for me, an attempt to OTT resulted in a Goblin landing next to fredde_e's tackle/mighty blow blitzer and failing to land... Resulting in the ball being in the open, behind his team. What then followed was nothing less then a scrum of Skaven, Goblins and the occasional Troll, up to the point where I left one of my sides too far open on turn four, giving fredde_e the room to pass towards a player that was out of reach and walking in the 2-1 victory on the 24th turn of the game.

Thanks for a very entertaining game and despite not having bested your Underworld, certainly was enough of a retaliation from last year. A close and exciting game! Hopefully next year round three of the Lower Altdorf Lakers vs. We live in a land down under. ;) Good luck in the next round.
