<td><span class="style1">The Invaders were founded in 1995 as the Darkland Ravens by Thorion Ravine. After a couple of successful seasons as the "Blue and Black," the team finished second in their league two years running.<br>
<br>
Thorion became ill during the Raven's third season. Remaining true to his team to the last, Thorion attended every game. As each victory piled up, Thorion's health deteriorated more. Thorion died in his box seat during the Raven's playoff loss to the High Elven team, the Ulthuan United. The United won the championship that year. Now without an owner, the team was taken up by city of Darkland. Feeling the name and colors were too strong a reminder of the dark 1997 season, the team was renamed the Storm, and the black was replaced by brown fur.<br>

The following seasons were disasterous. The in-appropriately named Storm was barely a light breeze on the field, bringing 5 consecutive losing seasons, each worse than the previous. By the end of the 2002 season, the team and the city supporting it were in financial ruin. The Storm was put up for sale in a "Dutch auction" to a Norscan Warlord, Odin Sleipnir.<br>

Odin's idea was to take the team on the road, permanently. He hoped that an extended, harsh, non-stop life on the road would toughen up his players, much like the great Norscan Berserker's who traveled from port to port without a permanant home. For the players, every game was an away game. For Odin, every game was an invasion of their opponents land, city and stadium He renamed his team the Invaders to match his vision. A new logo was designed and the brown fur was given up for silver, to match Odin's great beard.</span></td>
