The Ironclad Devastators were once a prominent team. Not as famous as their fellow humans or as the celebrity Reikland Reavers but they were rising stars all the same. This came to a disastrous end after a particularly brutal streak of matches which saw the squad completely decimated by their opposition. The team was in shambles, so much so even the local necromancers wanted naught to do with them. Their equipment was old and worn, their best players' careers ended either due to death or serious injury.

Their head Coach, Vancy "Nutty" Norman, had decided that they best continue just to get as much gate as possible as well as to do their best to salvage what was left to save face. That and of course due to owing some "borrowed" money to some shady groups. The players' or that what was left, were demoralized and the new fresh faced recruits none the wiser. The team however did decide that if there is one thing they wanted to do was to make it through to the end in one piece! To make matters worse, Coach Norman had entered the team into the infamous -tg- league!

However due to the generous donation from crazed fans, some unpleasant sources and betting groups, a huge amount of petty cash was gathered together. While Coach Norman felt tempted to run with the money, he knew that by then not only would those very suspicious groups be after him, so too would his own team and a stadium worth of fans!

The Ironclad Devastators felt hopeless wondering what to do to spend this cash to help them. Things looked bleak and with great courage and spirit, the ironclad Devastators equipped their worn and battered gear once more, ready to face off whatever was thrown at them.

To the shock and awe of all of the players, the legendary Morg 'N' Thorg stomped his way into the teams' locker room. A quick grunt and nod from him, the entire team erupted. The most famous Blood Bowl player had just entered their presence and to say the team became fanatical would be an understatement. Some members began frothing at the mouth, entering a fighting frenzy. Nutty Norman wasn't sure where he came from but now things were looking up for the Ironclad Devastators.

Their first match was against a Goblin team. Facing off against the vicious little greenskins, the Devastators ran in full throttle. Feeling emboldened by the humungous Morg leading them, the players engaged in a ferocious beat down of the opposition, almost impervious to any damage while dispatching the goblins brutally. Morg himself knocked out a troll in the opening moments. The game ended 1-0 with the team managing to come away with not only a victory but also having overpowered their opponents. Mortimer however, was slain during the match.

The second match saw the Ironclad Devastators face off against Orcs. Despite suffering horrendous casualties, they fought on like men possessed, Morg managing to help hold back the green tide, even intercepting the ball carrier once. After a desperate fight where Morg lead the teams' offense and defense like he did his own in his prime and bitter, bloody fighting from both sides, the game ended 1-1, with Morg winning MVP. Although Thaddeus was killed, the team was relieved with the result though at the end only six players were left standing, including Morg himself.

The third game saw the Devastators matched up against a Khorne Daemon team. The team, even the new recruits, were invigorated to a fanatical bloodthirsty frenzy, charging fearlessly head long alongside Morg into the melee. Despite suffering heavy casualties, thanks to Morg's inspiring (and physical!) presence, the team managed to stop the Khorne offense in its tracks, Morg himself blowing a hole in the Khorne box and tripping the carrier.

The offense saw Morg bludgeon half of the Khorne team off the field, rampaging alongside his maddened and frenzied comrades. By the end the Khorne team only had 4 players left standing until the Ironclad Devastators scored to make it 1-0. The match ended with six players either side. While Rikart and Vandal were slain, the Ironclad Devastators are still eager to push on, consumed by a wild, frenzied battle lust.

The fourth match saw the Devastators face off against a human team. This time however, the Devastators were horribly outmatched. Fighting against their peers who had simply better equipment and training, the game was lost 2-0. However, Morg still inspired the team to fight on and managed to injure the same amount they had received. Their battle lust only mildly waned, the Deveatators continue on to face their opposition.

The fifth match saw the Devastators face off against an Underworld team. Emboldened by their previous match, the Devastators lead by Morg stormed right into the thick of it, crushing the offense of the Underworld in the first half. Morg retrieved the ball but unfortunately due to shenanigans, tripped on the end zone the last minute!
The second half saw Morg retrieve the ball from a touchback. The Ballista put his name to the test, as he smashed his way up field. The Devastators too lived up to their name as they tore apart the Underworld team horrifically with Morg at their head. Morg handed off to Paragus to score 1-0 and after a last minute riot and failed throw team mate, the game ended 1-0 to the Devastators victory! Sammuel was slain by a thrown goblin but the result and ensuing carnage saw the Ironclad Devastators even more frenzied than before.

The sixth match saw the Devastators face off against a Necromantic team. In what could only be called a battle frenzy granted by Nuffle, Morg N Thorg alongside the Devastators began to devastate the Necromantic lines. Although they did score 1-0, the second half saw them terribly undermanned. Paragus decided to stall in the end zone while Morg and the other members of the team cleaned up. Unfortunately in the last minute, a Wight managed to dodge between two players and sack Paragus, the game ending 0-1.

Although the Devastators were disappointed, they were happy that Morg had followed them throughout the entirety of the season and had shown them what a real team they could be. Despite devastating casualties, injuries and a number of deaths, the Ironclad Devastators pressed on. Now they eagerly await to see if they enter the play-offs.

Despite being severely undermanned, some fellow fans who had watched the games were more than happy to fill in for substitutes. Not only for their own chance of glory but also to fight alongside the legendary Morg himself!

-----------------

The Devastators against all odds had made it to the -tg- play-offs! Their first match was against a team of poorly equipped human players, not much unlike themselves. However these humans were merely peasants from bretonnian. Their faith in The Lady was nothing short of fanatical, almost a match for the bloodthirsty frenzy held within the Devastators. But Morg 'N' Thorg was on their side, and after a disgustingly bloody match, ended the game 1-0 to the Devastators!

Semi-finals saw the Devastators face off against the same Orc team they had faced before during the season. Seeing a chance at their team making it to the grand finals, many spectators and fans offered their services and three lucky ones were hired by the team. The first half started with the Orcs cutting a bloody swathe through the Devastators but Morg held the line where he could. So much so he managed to sack the carrier after a quick dodge, preventing the Orcs from scoring. The second half was a bitter struggle up field but Morg and the now frenzied team smashed into the Orcs with a new vigour, ending the game 1-0.

The grand finals saw the Devastators finally meet their match. Despite overpowering the Slann team thanks to their battle lust and Morg, fouling, blocking, and headbutting, it was due to a failed catch in the first half and a failed dodge second half, the game ended 0-1.

The Ironclad Devastators may have lost the finals but they were overall delighted with the result, never once expecting themselves to have even won a game, let alone make it to the finals of a league! Morg 'N' Thorg himself had commended them, earning the team an incredible reputation among the open circuit as well as the team having earned a legion of fans, publicity, interviews with SPIKE! Magazine as well as restoring them to something resembling their former glory days.

The team celebrated their achievement in The Happy Dwarf tavern, where SPIKE! Magazine reported was among the greatest celebrations seen that year.
