FUMBBL Cup Old News

img

Here you can find all that news that's sooooo last week we just had to store it somewhere. Who's a golden oldie of Blood Bowl? Well, if their name is here, they are!

FC VII old news

  • In the end Atomic Cheese could not match the brute power of Best coaches as they mauled their way to the Fumbbl cup VII trophy. Congratulations PigStar-69 on an outstanding overall performance thru the entire cup. Congratulations to all who took part in this event and made it a fun and memorable cup. Many great games have been played and they provided excellent entertainment for the many fans. No less than 182 Players gave their lives to entertain us during the FC and add to that countless of injured players. Nothing not even death can stop players dreams of playing and winning the top of Blood Bowl, the Fumbbl Cup.
  • Enar set a new all time high for his major performance. Even though he was bested by PigStar-69 he was happy with his and his team’s performance. Never have they placed so high in major before. As predicted by the TNT, the number one coach on Fumbbl made his way to the final in a real brawl of a game. Hangover made a desperate dash for the end zone but was easily stopped by Best coaches who in return reversed the situation. Only a wizard saved Hangover from going to half time one - nil down. Second half saw the KOs pile up and in the end of second half it was a walk in the park when Best coaches finally walked over the end zone line.
  • The Fumbbl cup has reached its peak; only the final remains. This is definitely the biggest blood bowl match of the year on Fumbbl and possibly in the whole old world. It is Toturi’s Atomic Cheese vs PigStar-69’s Best coaches. Both teams and coaches have shown what their metal is made of in many tough games on their way to the top. All that is left now is to crown the king of Fumbbl cup.
  • The final is a tough game to call. Atomic Cheese has some strong gutters that are the back bone of any good skaven team. An Ag 6 monster that can dodge anywhere and pick up the ball, or a move 10 Ag 5 leaper who can easily be made to one turn. Add 3 Dirty players to the mix for some mayhem or strategic fouling. They do however suffer from a shallow rooster but have 125k to bolster their ranks. Best coaches are a strong built orc team but they are feeling the effect of a long tournament and they also have a shallow rooster. 90k can help some on this problem. A lot in this game will depend on the orcs ability to remove rats from the field and not suffer too much themselves while they stall. PigStar-69’s will have to rely heavily on his two stars Qaz and Melmoth. While Melmoth protects the ball Qaz will be hunting and hurting rats. The rats will have a hard time getting the ball from the orcs so they will have to try and outscore them and maybe hope for the success of a wizard. The orcs will have to give away two handicaps to Atomic Cheese and these two could be a potential cripplers. The rivalry between Melmoth and Qaz continues and rumour has it that they might not want to be on the same field. TNT does not dare betting against nuffles’ favorite love child and predicts Best coaches win the Fumbbl cup 3-2 in overtime. After 2-2 at half time they have grinded the rats into the dirt and they manage to stall out the final touchdown.
  • Now we know! The FC VII final is going to be between skaven and orcs. Atomic Cheese have had a really good run beating maybe the strongest elf team of FC VII; Agile cats for a change and thus won a well earned spot in the final. On the other side PigStar-69 showed Fumbbl that it is no coincidence he is the top ranked coach as his orcs are in the semifinal vs Hangover. Best coaches beat a stronger team when they bested K.a.o.s in a 1-0 game to get where they are now. Hangover managed to kill the killer of Goat in a boat and with their one man army dead, Hangover walsed past them to the semi final.

  • Hangover vs Best coaches is a tough game to call. Hangover has four nigglers, but are not giving away any handicaps and they do have a wizard. Best Coaches have a slightly better team but their is troll missing the game and they have 2 nigglers, but on less important players. This game might be decided on niggler rolls and how well the wizard works. TNT does however not dare to bet against Nuffle and his good friend PigStar-69 so our prediction is 2-1 for Best coaches in OT. Also very intresting is the rivalry between the two star blitzers of Best coaches. Melmotn and Qaz have been going at each other verbally for the past many games now. It is only a matter of time before they refuse to play on the pitch at the same time.
  • K.a.o.s looks like the orcs to beat after there dismanteling of the last Khemri team in FC. Beating K.a.o.s is just what number one coach PigStar-69 and his orcs Best coaches will have to try and do. This match up reminds the TNT writer about the new Blackbox league where the better coach is handicapped and has to play a stronger team. Is this a 50/50 matchup or is the handicap too big. Only time will tell.
  • TNTs Peoples's Choise Best Fouler and Peoples's Choise Best Entertainer are taking up nominations. look under links to find them.
  • The Last of the Empire’s hope failed as Rising Sun Rumblers lost to Agile cats for a change. It seemed that the humans never found their place in the game and the elven blitzers reigned supreme on the pitch. The racial diversity of FC shrank even more as both chaos dwarves and amazons are out of the picture. Amazons were dispatched of by Ligue des Assassins in a 0-2 game. Also Fumbbl’s biggest addict saw his orcs Hidden Agenda come to a dead end on their FC VII run. Atomic Cheese delivered the killing blow in a 2-0 game. Could the fragile rats, who survived this match unharmed, go all the way and take skaven’s second major title? In doing so, it would be with the second lowest TS of all remaining teams.
  • The Empire has been well represented in this year’s FC. Many human teams have done well but it seems they are at the end of their run. Only one human team remains in the FC after FC Altdorf was knocked out by the green tide, this time in the form of orc team Hangover. Despite being aided by Count Luthor von Drakenborg the humans lost 0-1. Also super killer team Chaotic Supastarz broke against the green tide but not without taking two orc skulls with them in their 1-2 loss against Space Orks. Out of twenty-two teams left in the FC VII, seven are orcs. Chaos and skavens have three teams left each. Dark elf and high elf have two teams, while wood elf, khemri, amazons, chaos dwarfs and humans only have one team left each. At the moment the green tide accounts for one third of the total teams in FC VII.

Articles/Blogs

  • Monday of the third week of the FC was a day of human triumph, as two human teams managed to push on in the FC VII. Griff Oberwald, Mighty Zug and Count Luthor von Drakenborg all saw action in the two games of the night. First up was Real Madrid C F vs Springfield Unlimited. A game that went back and forth, ultimately colliding in a failed dodge for a possible game winning pass by the chaos. The humans quickly snapped up the ball and scored a touchdown just as the referee was blowing his whistle. There was some initial confusion if he had blown the game off for over time as the chaos team claimed, or if he blew the whistle to signal a touchdown. In the end it was ruled a touchdown and the Human victory was a fact. One of the favorites to win FC VII was dispatched by the dynamic duo Oberwald/Drakenborg. The monster orc team Politeia saw themselves bested by Rising Sun Rumblers. It seemed the orc coach had no answer to the Oberwald/Drakenborg machine. The two stars were all over the place with Griff in the lead and Drakenborg close by as his supporter. Griff Oberwald scored the only touchdown of the game, but continued to impress in the second half with dodges, leaps and blitzes that would make even Jordell Freshbreeze himself green of envy. Never far behind and ensuring Oberwald's success was the Count that played a great game and fitted his role as second violin just perfectly. Count von Drakenborg was not available for a comment after that game as he promptly changed to a bat and flew off to Sylvania. TNT reporter travelled to Sylvania to interview Count Luthor von Drakenborg about the game. The interview can be found under the interview section.
  • Watching Chaotic Supastarz vs Ancient Cowboys was like entering a butcher shop in Jurassic Park. The chaos team made minced meat out of the lizards establishing them self as one of the the most brutal team of FC VII. No less than ten casualties were caused doing this bloodbath who Chaotic Supastarz not surprisingly won 2-0. A rumor has it that the Lustian Union is trying to get Chaotic Supastarz put on trial for genocide. However bloody the game did not feature the highest total body count in FC VII. The highest number of total casualties caused in a single game by both sides was seen in the second round game between Brutal's Crew and Southtown Strikers. The game featured 15 combined casualties, in two half’s of nonstop braking bones. After the dwarfs scored the winning touchdown the humans had run out of players to field leaving the few remaining dwarfs alone on the pitch for the kick off. The most casualties caused by one team were 11 and the honor of dealing out that headache goes to Star Wars-Empire Strikes Back. Whitekillers also managed to reach ten casualties during an FC VII game.

  • Wednesday earning saw New Ork Kafe Orkestra blitz thru two teams on the same night. First they dispatched We are Orcs and then later Dark Judges. New Ork Kafe Orkestra showed no sign of fatigue against Dark Judges despite having played just a few hours earlier. They look strong reaching the fifth round as the second team.
  • Round two of Fumbbl Cup is over. This round saw one forfeit. Better than first round but still one too many.

  • New Interviews with Dangerman first coach in fifth round of FC VII. And with Ninetails line rat of Vanilla Ninjas. Look under Articles/Blogs to find them.
  • Two more of the big teams are out of FC VII. Competitive Eaters where bested by the Dark Elfs Hell Girls. Hell Girls Managed to win 2-1 and also to put a few dents in the rock hard armor of Competitive Eaters. They killed a longbeard and Niggled Huapec Qoxotl who did manage to regenerate. Pizoteadorez Long bomb after a failed touchdown attempt from Lone Stars proved to be a game winner and the orcs bested the Lone Stars 1-0. Pizoteadorez will have the opportunity to try and repeat the giantkilling feat by besting K.A.O.S. in the next round.

  • Voices from the Dark was the first team to reach the fourth round of FC VII. They beat I never play Elfs 2-0 to get there. One of the strongest teams of FC VII is out of the tournament. The former Warpstone Open III winner Extraordinary Brotherhood lost 2-0 to Space Orks. Boys in the Hoods bagged yet another victory. The humans who managed to pull a huge upset in the first round of FC VII now made it all the way to fourth round.
  • First round of FC VII is over. 17 games were not played in the first round. Shame on the coaches whose fault it was the games where not played.
  • Tuesday saw the exit of former FC IV champions Nandorins. Goat in a boat brought their brutal "A" game punching their way to victory with a jaw dropping 8 casualties and 9 KOs. Badly outnumbered and battered the Nandorins fought uphill but found no hole in Goat in a boat’s steel cage. One of the most spectator crowded games of the evening featured Occhi di Gatto vs. Gruchs Gang. Almost every spectator had a strong opinion about this game or its coaches. When the amazons used its apothecary on a badly hurt player the crowd demanded punishment for this action. They were duly rewarded. The game featured plenty of blood for the fans sporting 11 casualties in total. Outnumbered in over time the amazons managed to come out on top winning 2-1
  • Monday evening saw Mr. Fumbbl Cup himself, PurpleChest and his Paladins Of Purple vs. Fumbbl majors’ veterans YessssssT. But little could Paladins of Purple do, as the stronger chaos dwarfs sent PurpleChest back to just governing the Fumbbl Cup. No one was disappointed when Rhazgul's Judgement took on Deadland Flashgitz. Crowd pleaser and king butcher Naama, killed his way to victory in the classic style we have all come to love Rhazgul's Judgement for. True to the Naama way althou not a true Naama* it was a three half brawl where the chaos team decimated the orcs. Brutal as Blood Bowl can be the game featured no less than 12 casualties in total. Lock up your daughters because the Naama show has come to town. Boys don't cry where right at home playing an elfball game vs. White Eagle. White Eagle tried but in the end could not compete against the stronger team who are no strangers to playing elfball games hving played roughly 65% of their games vs. what many describe as the less hard hitting races of the old world.

*A Naama. To deliberately take a game to overtime instead of winning within normal time just to get one more half to maim your opponent
  • Sunday evening was a night where we would see many Fumbbl cup games. One of the most notable games pitted the monster of a team Naggaroth 1337padawans II Vs. Cruzados. But the humans where undaunted by playing 94 TS and 21 Cr up. Could it be that Naggaroth 1337padawans II was ring rusty having played only two games since 3/1 2008? The night also saw more Fumbbl celebrities move on as Competitive Eaters made their way into the second round along with other known teams such as Lustrian Challenge II winners Whitekillers, Lone Stars, FC IV winner Nandorins and the warpstone II winners Urza's World who unlike Naggaroth 1337padawans II did not show ring rust despite not having played since 3/1 2008. Also Dark Judges, Springfield Brewing Company, Popes of Mope and Emphasy's Hidden Agenda made it to the 3rd round, but was not the first to do so. That honor belongs to I Verdi, i Brutti e i Cattivi!. Sunday was also the clash of fumbbl number one killer Buskopanz vs fan favorite Synn. The game although having two quality coaches never got interesting as the much stronger orcs just walked thru Synns Lizards.
  • Many mega teams have already fallen including Danish Terror who fell by the hand of Boys in the Hoods and Death's Angels who fell to Bored Supercomputer. Fumbbl celebrities such as Emphasy and PigStar-69 has secured their places in the second round.
  • The first game of FC VII Pitted Guild of the Unseen Vs. Sentinels of JUSTICE! In a real exciting game the vampires managed to secure the win over the stronger orcs. A game worthy of opening FC VII
  • FC VII has started and the first round is a clash of 256 teams against each other.
