A lot of stuff hasn't in RL for me recently and is still happening, not really for the better in most cases. I have had stop playing as much as I would like.
I started to think about all the crazy stuff I have seen, done, been part of on here.
So I thought I would start this thread off. A way, perhaps, of recording our greatest/saddest/most annoying/etc moments for us to revisit when we see fit.
I remember when I was speccing a major game (interestingly can't remember which one) and I had got through a considerable amount of wine. I needed the toilet due to fluid consumption . So in my inebriated state I typed 'brb' as a spec followed by 'oops, thought I was playing' as I actually thought I was playing! Much fun was had by the other specs but it was bloody funny.
I remember when I joined the 145 club to relearn how to play the game after soon realising the coaching level here was high.
I remember playing Lizvis. o.O
Anyway, you get the idea.
Feel free to add your own.
Enjoy! |

I remember when...
- /hurt
- when you had to send a message to your opponent to start a match
- I had a quarrel with Big C and he made me actually understand
- you had to move your players one square at a time

Back in the old days, before the coming of the wonderful journeyman, I used to play a lot of games with a battered team of wood elves called Tangleweed and often got to field no more than a handful of players.
I remember one particular game, against a full team of Amazons, when only four players turned up; a treeman, a catcher and two linemen. The catcher then failed his niggler roll (back in those days, that meant you didn’t get to play) so I was down to three. One of the linemen was then BH on the first turn, so it was just one elf and a tree.
I still managed to score.
Then the tree was fouled into the BH box, so one lone lineman remained and he couldn’t stop the Amazons from scoring.
In the second half, my boy lined up against a full team and there really wasn’t much he could do - but he did it anyway, and he ran in a score for the win on the final turn.
It was probably all down to dice, but I still remember it as one of my greatest FUMBBL moments.
And here it is:

I remember academy, and a very patient Bill_Vestergaard teaching me how to play whilst simultaneously kicking my ass.
I remember amusing a lot of people when I had conceded a match and lost my legend fling as Nuffles punishment. I remember people being even more amused when I got him back via a kickstarter item only for him to get smooshed by an ogre half a dozen games later. I've never conceded since, despite several matches that fell well within acceptable concession rules.
I remember discovering just how fun flings were, and how satisfying it is to beat a "normal" roster with them.
I remember Paul Hicks and his foulosophy.
I remember starting up a zombie team with the aim to make the greatest zombie ever.
I remember fully embracing fouling. It's a thing of beauty.
I remember starting up the Fumbbl Image Library, and it actually taking off.
I remember appreciating a game I love being free, and a community that is miraculously friendly (for a given value of friendly!) for an online based game. |
