Quote: | Interestingly, as regards prone use of HG: p11 of CRP says a player may do nothing before standing, but p23 says that Extraordinary skills may be used while prone. Other Extraordinary skills (TTM, stab) have stipulations that you must stand up first, but HG does not. By the letter of the law therefore HG can be used when prone. |
from naf clarifications, I tried to use in the java, but there is not option to use HG from prone Vamp player.
so, it is a bug o it is not contemplated when the java is programmed?
Thanks |

yeah, if you do that, you stand up (after right click move) and then use HG (right click HG). I would know if, I posted before, you can use direct from prone HG (directly right click HG) |

Under the Hypnotic Gaze skill, it states the skill can be used at the end of a move action, so not while prone. I don't know anything about NAF clarifications, but it seems properly implemented to me. |

...except that you can take a Move action and choose not to move. The Move action description says "may" move, not "must". It also specifies that you can choose to move zero squares, which, for a player starting prone, would mean that they stay prone. The NAF are correct, you should be able to gaze from prone. If you can't, that is a bug. |

In the rulebook says: Quote: | "While Prone, the player loses his tackle
zones and may do nothing before standing up at a cost of three
squares of his movement when he next takes an Action" |
You can not do anything before stand up, so you don't use HG or as you said with "may" is not an obligation and you can use a extraordinary skill? |

I just tested this is test mode and you can hypno from prone.
It's just like I said before:
1. Right click vamp
2. choose "Move Action", but do not move (do NOT choose "stand up and end move")
3. Right click vamp again
4. Choose "Hypno gaze"
5. click adjacent target opponent player
or did I miss something?
EDIT: oooh, now I got it! you want to use HG and stay prone, right? |

Stare at their ankles real hard, it'll work.
Vampire relaxing on his back, "Hey buddy look down here"
"wha ??"
"You are in my power" |

The NAF clarification is wrong.
"6. Only extraordinary skills work when a player is stunned or prone."
That's for Stunty and Thick Skull and Decay and Chainsaw and whatever else. Your extraordinary skills do work when you're prone, so long as you don't have to "do anything" to use them, because you can't "do anything" until you stand up. Modifiers to the checks the other coach makes is exactly what that's for.
You "may use" an hypnotic gaze as an AG roll, but that's obviously within the limitations of "doing something" in that you're rolling dice for that player. You still can't "do anything" until you stand up.
A more interesting "clarification" would be that because you can't use any skills when prone, and Piling On makes you prone ... YOU CAN'T USE CLAW OR MIGHTY BLOW after Piling On. Because they're skills, and you can't use skills while prone. Let the fight commence! |

Let the fight commence! | While I love that interpretation to clips the claws on clawPOMB, I don't think it quite works like that, because in this instance, claw and MB are used in the act of Piling On, and therefore the act of becoming prone, and not after you are placed prone. |

@tussock: jaja, but in that case, you use pilling on and then be prone, so the skills apply I think because you re-roll armory or injured roll and then put the player prone.
@roland I play a in a test mode, and if I used move and don't move in a prone Vamp, hi stand up... |

Hence, you can not use pile on while piling on, so the PO player is placed prone but does not reroll armor nor injury. |

@sainthoropee: After carefully reading page 11 several times, I'm pretty sure that standing up is not intended to be considered part of the movement action, but something which much be done before a movement action can be taken. In particular, the wording "at a cost of three
squares of his movement when he next takes an Action." implies that the move action is something which begins after standing up, not before.
Since hypnotic gaze is done at the end of a movement action, the interpretation that you stand up before you take a movement action would prevent you from using hypnotic gaze while prone dispite it being an extrordinary skill. |
