There is a modifier but it doesn't prevent mirror matches, it rather prevents exactly looking teams to get sceduled instead of similar teams from other races. As long as there are limited options to choose from the bot will also schedule mirrors. |

Why should people play to not have fun?
I will never play dwarf, nor Chaos Dwarf. I tried (tabletop) and found them incredlble boring.
For what I think. It's all a matter of likes and dislikes, not a matter of "fill the grid". I play the races that I consider fun to play, not the races that a grid says I need to play
Cheer! |
Um, THIS THREAD is for people who want to fill the grid. You can take your HATE elsewhere sir! |

Do I have to be active to apply? Or can I just get a team in and will be shown in the statistics, even if I don't know if I manage a single box match each month?
I'd love to join, if only to know my variety factor... but if you don't like dead weight, I better not. |

I would like to know how to write the formula for the variety factor, I have (unsurprisingly to most!) got both grids on a spreadsheet and I have configured it to show me the numbers of match-ups and total percentage, but got lost with the N/24 and multiple activations description in the group page....
Thanks in advance |

I'll try to calculate that for me.
N (total number of box games) = 66
Limit per race = N/24 = 2.75 ~ 2 (I guess it always gets rounded down?)
Points per race:
Chaos = 2 (instead of 3)
Chaos Pact = 1
Dwarf = 2 (instead of 15)
High Elf = 2
Necromantic = 2
Norse = 2 (instead of 6)
Nurgle = 2 (instead of 4)
Undead = 2
Underworld = 2 (instead of 3)
Vampire = 2
Wood Elf = 2 (instead of 26)
Sum of race points: 21
Variety Indicator = Race points/N*100 = 21/66*100 = 31.8
Right?
Edit:
If the race limit gets rounded up (in this case), my VI would be 40.9! |

kool thanks Rabe
I worked through mine on the spreadsheet and have the following :
N = 143 Limit per Race = N/24 = 5.99 ~ 6 (I prefer to round up but will calculate the group page)
Points per Race:
Chaos Dwarf = 6 (
Dark Elf = 5
Dwarf = 1
Elf = 6 (45)
Halfling = 6 (22)
Khemri = 6 (22)
Lizardmen = 6 (13)
Orc = 6
Underworld = 6 (21)
Sum of Race points : 48
Variety Indicator : RP/N*100 or (48/143)*100 = 33 (rounded as per my spreadsheet)
Thanks again Rabe, and also everyone involved in this group.
Take care Dal. |

Ooh, more fun numbers!
Number of Box games: 587
Limit = 24
Chaos: 24 (instead of 63)
Dwarf: 6
Goblin: 24 (down from 25)
Halfling: 1
High Elf: 24 (down from 95)
Khemri: 24 (down from 35)
Lizardmen: 24 (down from 262 )
Necromantic: 2
Norse: 7
Orc: 24 (down from 25)
Skaven: 4
Slann: 1
Undead: 3
Underworld: 24 (down from 58 )
Sum race points: 192
Variety indicator = 192/587*100 = 33.
Looks like I need to play some Nurgle/Chaos dwarves/Chaos pact to start getting my average up a little |

Rabe your limit is 2.75, so undead scores 2 and underworld scores 2.75 -same for everyone else's limits of course. The final score is rounded off by normal rules I think.
And Hito play some rats and slann! |

Ahhhh, ok. Makes sense. Thanks!
It's 38 then. Not bad, but could be improved a lot (new fling team is waiting to get into action at least and I still have a fresh DE team in the fridge).
I guess I'll join the group if I ever get more time to play the box.
Edit:
But really, guys: Don't you think there should also be an indicator by how much a player increases the diversity in the box? Like the variety indicator, but with a limit based on the current distribution of teams played in the box (the higher the share, the lower the limit)? |

I've just hit my 50th different match-up
Have been sneakily combining this with the ELF thingymajig, so getting some elf games played in at the same time - 2 birds with 1 stone \o/ |
