LINERAT RAGE!!!1
I give you, the effing laziest Linerat I have ever seen, which yet seems to get all the attention. He is basically Blood Bowl's Daniel Sturridge - good talent, doing nothing special, still getting all the praise.

17 games, 5 MVP titles. On a linerat. That's all. |

I had a nice annoying game last night, and feeling hard done by, I looked at the dice stats to see if it was as bad as I thought. No, not really (although 3 out of 4 Bloodlusts on turn 1, plus two blitzes for my opponent clouded my vision)!
Real neat thing though, my opponent rolled 51 single dice. Of those 51 dice, he rolled a single 3. What are the odds?! |

How come I get 0,000018?
(1/6) * (5/6)^50 |

Your odds are just the odds of one three and fifty not threes. You need to allow for the permutations.
The 3 could be first, or second, or third, etc
In this case, because it's just one item, you need to multiply by n, 51, to get 0.0009 |

Ah, very correct! 51 chances to get the single 3. Thanks! |

To go full geek I would argue that the probability should actually be of rolling any result (1,2,3,4,5,6) only once in 51 attempts. I don't think it is important to the observer which result it is; they would have made the comment whichever result had only come up once. |

What are the chances of a thread full of rage turning into cold, boring discussion about probabilities?
It's too hard to work out, screw you maths! |

I had considered that but a wise old maths teacher once told me, "answer the question that's asked."
The answer to your question, meanwhile, is six times greater. |
