NFC Playoff race at the halfway point.

NFC East

Woodington Barkskins - Garcangel - 30
Dallas Crowbar - OTS - 30
New York Kroaks - ex-convict - 23
Philadelphia Wrecks - robocoyote - 9

No one would have been surprised that the East is a three team horse race, the fact that the now Joe-less wrecks aren’t one of the teams is shocking. It shows just how competitive this division has become. Once there is a winner the real race will be for a playoff spot for the runner up. Can the woodies survive the 2nd half, can the dwarves grind down the competition, or will the Frog defense leap them into the playoffs.

NFC North

Green Baynana Grabbers - happygrue - 38
Destroit Lynels - dashergeaux - 31
Manglesota Lyc'ns - Lorebass - 13
She-Call-Girls Bared - Cervus - 3

Hey look everyone, the grabbers are the one seed! The fact that Green Bay and Destroit seem like playoff locks is not shocking. The Lyc’ns and She-Call Girls struggled as new teams, but will improve in the 2nd half. Double digit points for Lorbass still seems wrong? A Grabbers head to head loss to Destroit means the Lynels still have a chance to steal away the division.

NFC South

Atlatl Flechettes - Nelphine - 34
Carolina Pythoness - Waagh - 31
Nawlins Lost Saints - BillBrasky - 13
Swampa Bay Bogganeers - Xelron - 10

Atlatl remains in control of the South. It’s the same two team race for the South, and it is hard to see the Flechettes holding off the Pythoness once again. The only thing to slow them down is the all menz on the LOS defense, which won’t prove well against deadly spoilers Nawlins and Swampa Bay. The Pythoness should hold down a 5 or 6 seed for the playoffs easily.

NFC West

Los Angeles Glams - Stimme - 23
San Foulcisco 69'ers - Nicodemus1 - 20
Arizona Redbulls - Klazam - 17
Seattle Waaagh!Hawks - HouseBlackfyre - 7

The first half was a beating for the NFC West. It makes the division race competative for what looks to be the only playoff spot they’ll get with another tough match up with the NFC north. The Glams should hold off the division but anyone can get hot and steal the 4 seed in a race decided by the head to head matchups.

NFC Playoff Race as it stands

1. Green Baynana Grabbers - 38 (North Winner)
2. Atlatl Flechettes - 34 (South Winner)
3. Woodington Barkskins - 30 (East winner)
4. Los Angeles Glams - 23 (West Winner)
5. Carolina Pythoness - 31
6. Destroit Lynels - 31
7. Dallas Crowbar - 30

In the hunt
New York Kroaks 23
San Foulcisco 69'ers 20

Predictions: I think the division leaders are what they are, the usual suspects with Woodington holding off their division. A new team and new coach to the league will struggle to hold on to a wildcard spot. Look for Destroit to hold down the 5 seed coming up short in the North, while the Kroaks and Dallas to fight for a 6 spot. The Redbulls improve in the back half and steal the 7 from the new Pact team.

AFC East

Miami Coronablights - Relezite - 38
New Zigguratland Chariots - Wolvezzz - 38
Brew More Gents - ryanfitz - 26
Buffalo Chill - Jeffro - 21

21 points puts you in the playoff race in any other division. The East demolished the NFC west, and looks like it is possible it could get three teams in the playoffs. Miami and New Zigguratland share the league lead in points and will continue to put up huge scores. The Gents will try to foul their way into a playoff spot and the Chill need to get hot in the 2nd half. This should be the division to watch in the second half as the games with the AFC South mean they’ll be playing for the 1 seed.

AFC North

Bleaksburg Stranglers - Kzarik - 35
Cleaved Land Bedlam - captainmalkor - 34
No-Skincinnati Bungles - Dutchlife - 20
TBD - KidCrestHill? - 14

Much like the NFC north, it’s business as usual in the AFC. The Stranglers and the Bedlam seem to be in control and heading to the playoffs, although the wildcard race will be in question for the runner up. A new franchise can has the potential to shake things up, with The Bungles making gradual improvements and playing spoilers in the back half.

AFC South

Indiapolorks Dorks - Asteflix - 37
Houston Treants - Bazakastine - 31
Jakesonville Jortles - mrt1212 - 27
Titannesse Kraken's - GotrekSlayer - 10

The rookie Dorks would have had the best start to the season if not for a tie to the Grabbers that should have been a win. They’ll need to hold off the Superbowl champs and a resurging Jortles team that will be fighting for both the division and a wild card spot. The Kraken’s have just had all the bounces go against them, and will look to hurt their rivals for next season.

AFC West

Las Vegas Evaders - wintergreen13 - 34
Denver Brontos - jmonforton - 31
Tijuana Charros - Amon242 - 26
Khornsas City Khows - Garnak - 3

The Evaders are the surprise darling of the season. They’ll have to maintain a narrow lead against the playoff veteran Brontos and a Charros team with one of the best defenses in the league. The Khows will look to put some players out to pasture as they build for next season.

Playoff Race as it stands

1. Miami Coronablights - 38
2. Indiapolorks Dorks - 37
3. Bleaksburg Stranglers - 35
4. Las Vegas Evaders -34
5. New Zigguratland Chariots - 38
6. Cleaved Land Bedlam - 34
7. Houston Treants - 31

In the hunt:

Denver Brontos - 31
Tijuana Charros - 26
Jakesonville Jortles - 27
Brew More Gents - ryanfitz - 26
Buffalo Chill - Jeffro - 21

Look the NFC playoff race is pretty boring this year. The AFC has all the action. Super bowl champs as the 7 seed, but only on tiebreakers. NBFL point leading New Zigg as the 5 seed. 21 points for Buffalo and they are so far back I almost didn’t include them as in the hunt. The Dorks have the biggest division lead at a whole 6 points. There’s everything to play for in the back half, and the powerhouse South and East match up head to head where 6-7 teams think they can get to the playoffs, but will only get 3-4 spots.

Predictions: With the AFC south and East beating each other up, I think things are what they are. I think Rel holds onto the 1 seed and Bleaksburg sneaks into the 2 (but only so I can remind everyone of when I won the NFC North with Grue, Rel and Kzarik). The Dorks see great matchups for lean mean orcs in the 2nd half and hold down the 3 seed and the Evaders continue to frustrate opponents for the 4 seed. New Zigg is a 5, Cleveland an easy 6 and The Super bowl champs barely hang on to the 7.

NBFL Week 8
The second half of the season starts with an absolute banger of a week - second highest of the season so far, absolutely crushing more than 1250spp of players.

11 Dead of the week:
Jackass the Monkey [UCSD], draftee, 102spp Slann Blitzer of New York Kroaks
Filthy Rotzgerald, dead 99spp Pestigor of Tijuana Charros
Pale Dale, draftee, dead 70spp High Elf Blitzer of Los Angeles Glams
Montel Jordan [PEP], draftee, dead 66spp Dwarf Blocker of Dallas Crowbar
Martin 'Big Foot' Gramatica [Poli], draftee, dead 59spp Saurus of Denver Brontos
Gabriel Cherry [CAL], draftee, dead 59spp Bloater of Tijuana Charros
T.J. Watt, dead 34spp Witch Elf of Bleaksburg Stranglers
Top Banana, dead 12spp Bonobo of Green Baynana Grabbers
Noah Zharr, dead 7spp Rotter of Swampa Bay Bogganeers
Chukwuma Okorafor, dead 6spp Rotter of Titannesse Kraken's
Barbara, dead 0spp Pro Lineelf of Las Vegas Evaders

Death of the week: In a week full of insane deaths, multiple +S players, multiple super stars, multiple other stat players, draftees, homegrown, everything, there was one standout. Jackass the Monkey. However, it is not so much that the Monkey is the death of the Week, it is more that Nawlins managed to trim New York by 1200tv, which is the highest that I have ever managed to see in a single game. Absolutely annihilated the frawgs.

8 Injured Draftees and Stars
Travis Lewis [OK], draftee, niggled 111spp Bull Centaur of New Ziggland Chariots
Greg Yalms, -AV 99spp Skaven Blitzer of Miami Coronablights
Franklynn, draftee, -AG 92spp Saurus of Denver Brontos
Pete Lyman [MIA], draftee, -MA 85spp Slann Linefrog of New York Kroaks
Howie "BadBoy" Long, -AG 82spp Bloater of Titannesse Kraken's
Kenneth Peters [GAL], draftee, niggled 53spp Chaos Dwarf Blocker of Destroit Lynels
Chibuike Udenigwe [OTT], draftee of the incomparable Bee-Bees, -MA 51spp Slann Blitzer of New York Kroaks
Jamaal Bulliams, -ST 50spp Bull Centaur of Destroit Lynels

Injury of the week: Everyone on this list is a fantastic key player on their team. This weak was dreadful. But, the worst of the lot was New Ziggland getting one of their star Bulls niggled.

6 Other permanently injured players
Las Vegas Evaders with one Pro Lineelf
Tijuana Charros with one Rotter
Miami Coronablights with one Linerat
New York Kroaks with one Kroxigor
Woodington Barkskins with one Wood Elf Catcher and Lineelf

NBFL Week 9
A slow week (considering the season) with a little under 700spp being smashed up:

9 Dead of the week:
Derrick Brooks, draftee, dead 106spp Pestigor of Swampa Bay Bogganeers
Todd Santos [SDSU], draftee, dead 72spp Slann Blitzer of New York Kroaks
Froma Crypt II [NV], draftee, dead 67spp Human Blitzer of She-Call-Girls Bared
Jerry Lei, dead 39spp Gutter Runner of Miami Coronablights
Clawdner Smashew, dead 30spp Minotaur of Philadelphia Wrecks
Elias Jayn, dead 16spp Human Blitzer of She-Call-Girls Bared
POOBAR, dead 9spp Bonobo of Green Baynana Grabbers
Turgon Telperiën II, dead 7spp Wood Lineelf of Woodington Barkskins
Nord VPN, dead 0spp Linerat of Miami Coronablights

Death of the week: Swampa Bay, Kroaks, and She-Call-Girls all continue to get manhandled. However, death of the weak goes to Jerry Lei - Miami is slowly coming closer to having a mere mortal NBFL team. Also, Clawdner Smashew was killed by Zuerlein, an orc which many have lamented as needing to be retired already. Instead? He picks up dirty player as his superstar skill!

3 Injured Draftees and Stars
Randy Moss [IN], draftee, -AG 143spp Wood Elf Catcher of Woodington Barkskins
Lamar Blount [Duke], draftee, -MA 90spp Saurus of Denver Brontos
Michael Von Bargen IX [Navy], draftee, -AV 77spp Saurus of Denver Brontos

Injury of the week:
Randy Moss is a natural one turner; especially in the NBFL, that can help immensely against walls of sidestepping stand firmers. But, two crippled Saurii in the same week? I don't know which is worse.

2 Other permanently injured players
Cleaved Land Bedlam with one Beastman
Miami Coronablights with one Linerat

16 players missing their next game
Bleaksburg Stranglers with two Dark Elf Blitzers and one Dark Lineelf
No-Skincinnati Bungles with one Tomb Guardian

NBFL Week 10
This week was rather tame for the rest of you; Atlatl lost almost half the 400 odd spp this week saw go down in the NBFL! For shame!

8 Dead of the week:
Malcolm "Tree Hugger" Pridgeon [BSU], draftee, dead 105spp Kroxigor of Atlatl Flechettes
Daylight come and you gotta Delhome, dead 91spp Dark Elf Runner of Carolina Pythoness
John Skorupan, dead 8spp Dark Lineelf of Buffalo Chill
Shane Lemieux, dead 8spp Slann Linefrog of New York Kroaks
Junior Slime-oww, dead 6spp Rotter of Tijuana Charros
James ''Darkness'' Dork, dead 6spp Lineorc of Indiapolorks Dorks
Onuwasaur, dead 0spp Pro Lineelf of Las Vegas Evaders
Evan Neal, dead 0spp Kroxigor of New York Kroaks

Death of the week: Malcolm "Tree Hugger" Pridgeon [BSU]. Another Str 6 big killed by that blasted orc Zuerlein. He makes no sense!

3 Injured Draftees and Stars
John Abraham, niggled 103spp Saurus of Atlatl Flechettes
Sir William Marshall [UNAM], draftee, -ST 88spp Human Blitzer of She-Call-Girls Bared
Justin Reid, -MA 31spp Wood Lineelf of Houston Treants

Injury of the week:
Sir William Marshall, a perfect Human Blitzer; and now, just another smashed player for the completely not perfect humans.

Picking divisional placements too! Brought to you by Michter's Rye
NFC
EAST:Philly > NewYork >Dallas > Woodington (Likely the best division overall to watch this year)
NORTH: GB > Destroit > Mangle > She-Call-Go-Go (the division will be won with 3 games left to play)
SOUTH: Atlatl > Carolina > Nawlins > Swampa (the end of season collapse and brasky games should be viewed)
WEST: Arizona > LA > San Fran > Seattle (Seattle and SF make this division closer than it was last year)

AFC
EAST: Miami > New Ziggy > Buffalo > DrinkMore (Miami focuses on the wins and gets it done)
NORTH: Cleaved > Bleaksburg > No-skin > Charm (No-skin improves from last in their division?)
SOUTH: Houston, Indy > Jakesonville > Titansee (threats emerge, each team takes some blood from the champs)
WEST: Denver > Tijuana > Vegas > Khornsas (a wild finish to a division race, watch some games here!)

OK, so whiskey was involved in the predictions and may still be as we approach the playoffs...

NFC
East.... other than being perfectly backwards it was perfect! who knew robo forgot how to play the game?
North PERFECT BABY!!! 2-3 weeks might change it slightly but I doubt it
South OK I expected Carolina to hold on longer, but still, "CALLED IT"
West We still got three weeks, kudos to Stimme for fouling my predictions so far. Can you maintain with pressure on?

AFC
EAST: couldn't predict Buffalo's collapse, but yeah I got this one right!
NORTH: Better than a broken watch, I'm right more than twice a day!
SOUTH: Close, 1 & 2 will still make the playoffs, we have two games left to see who will secure the divisional title
WEST: (a wild finish to a division race, watch some games here!) with 3 weeks to go and 5 points between 1st and 3rd
in the division, yeah a choice was made but this prediction is GOOD!

Ahem. Due to my hecklers, I would like to say in the NFC:

Green Baynana takes the bye.
Woodington number 2 against Atlatl number 7. Atlatl wins.
Carolina against Dallas. Carolina wins.
Los Angeles against Destroit. Los Angeles wins.
(I'm fine with the two D ranked teams swapping places above.)

Green Baynana against Atlatl. Atlatl wins.
Carolina against Los Angeles . Los Angeles wins.

Los Angeles against Atlatl. Atlatl wins.

Since my haters won't let my prediction come true, we have a new one!

The playoffs for the last 2016 season of NBFL are set, and yes, AFCW (decried as a weak division in the first half of the season) managed to get 3 teams into the playoffs!

In the AFC, we see:
1 - Cleaved Land - captainmalkor: 72 (division leader for North, gets a round 1 bye)
2 - Miami - Relezite: 69 (division leader for East)
3 - Las Vegas - wintergreen13: 65 (division leader for West)
4 - Indiapolorks - Asteflix: 60 (division leader for South)
5 - New Ziggland - Wolvezzz: 66 (second in East)
6 - Denver - jmonforton: 62 (second in West)
7 - Tijuana - Amon242: 60 (third in West)

And in the NFC:
1 - Green Baynana - happygrue "RTFM": 73 (division leader for North, gets a round 1 bye)
2 - Woodington - Garcangel: 72 (division leader for East)
3 - Atlatl - Nelphine: 65 (division leader for South)
4 - Los Angeles - Stimme: 58 (division leader for West)
5 - Destroit - dashergeaux: 62 (second in North)
6 - Dallas - OTS: 54 (second in East)
7 - Carolina - Waagh: 52 (second in South)

As always, my predictions are based on figuring out mathematical formulas that determine the bonus that each team gets based on their roster and overall team history. I then roll 2d6 and add these bonuses. NUFFLE CHOOSES

AFC Round 1 Predictions:
Miami vs Tijuana
- Tijuana has the smash and grab they needed to make it into the playoffs and Miami was annihilated by Brew More in week 13.. but it isn't enough. Relezite does what he does best, and puts rats into the end zone with the ball.
- Miami wins 2-1

Las Vegas vs Denver
- Las Vegas has already played Denver twice, and will see them a third time in their inaugural season - but, Denver simply has the experience, and the Tail Gator, and holds Las Vegas back.
- Denver wins 2-1

Indiapolorks vs New Ziggland
- Asteflix knows how to play a new team. Asteflix knows how to play orcs. Asteflix knows how to kick ass and take names. But Wolvezzz.. well, he doesn't do anything we like. His drafts are awful, his stats are all over the place.. and he scores! He scores soooo much!
- New Ziggland wins 3-2 on turn 8 of OT

AFC Round 2:
Cleaved Land vs Denver
- Cleaved Land dominated all season, and have a very very scary roster. Denver has the Tail Gator... and Nuffle says Tail Gator wins!
- Denver wins 2-1

Miami vs New Ziggland
- Turn 1: Touchdown. Miami shocked that New Ziggland would one turn just to spite Garcangel. Turn 2: Touchdown. Miami takes up the challenge.
- New Ziggland wins 4-3, possibly in overtime.

AFC Championship:
New Ziggland vs Denver
- Neither of these teams are who we expected, but they are the stat freaks we deserve! And stat freaks continue to bring home the show.
- New Ziggland wins 3-2.

NFC Round 1:
Woodington vs Carolina
- These teams have crazy stars who can make incredible plays, but Garcangels experience shines through, and Carolina quad skulls.
- Woodington wins 2-0

Atlatl vs Dallas
- We hates it we do, yes we hates it. Not fair to ask what's in its stand firm, not fair to ask what's in its diving tackle, yes, we kills it, and we takes it, yes we do, its mine, my precious, my precious....
- Atlatl wins 2-1

Los Angeles vs Destroit
- Los Angeles has continued to get the crap kicked out of them this season. Their blitzer rivals San Francisco for most number of injuries on one team. Unfortunately, Destroit uses this to their advantage.
- Destroit wins 2-1

NFC Round 2:
Green Baynana vs Destroit
- We may have seen this game before. Time, and time again. But, just like in the regular season, Destroit has the apes number.
- Destroit wins 2-1

Woodington vs Atlatl
- Atlatl rolls a LOT of dice. 13 elves leave the pitch.
- Atlatl wins 2-0

NFC Championship!
Note: dashergeaux will be winning the lottery, and opt not to play his game, as he will be moving into a very large mansion that week, and gives his place to happygrue
Green Baynana vs Atlatl
- Since I already predicted this game in a previous post, I can't change it now, even if it happens at a different time.
- Atlatl wins 2-1

SUPERBOWL
Atlatl vs New Ziggland
- We's faster, we's smashier, we's bigger, we's badder. And we still remove 8 players.
- Atlatl wins 2-1

Whiskey poll playoffs.

NFC
4:5 LA Glams vs. Destroilet - Destroilet evens up the season records. With the Glams having the advantage in the season record 1:1:0 it really helps to have this game in the wayback machine

3:6 Atlatl vs Dallas - With their spector-mentor Fitz passed out in the stands Atlatl finally figures out how to defeat the dorfs, but is more than decimated.

2:7 Woodington vs SomeScrubs - promised I'd pick against garc 3:1 in this one so this is my official pick against Garc - you will note that I have Woodington in the next round

AFC

4:5 Indy vs. New Ziggy - 1:1 going into OT, farkin new ziggy bulls should be dead but survive and steal this one in OT

3:6 Vegas vs Denver - This game goes to OT and both elves still alive make a spectacle of it. The Brontos move thru relatively unscathed

2:7 Miami vs Tijuana - The rats go ahead early but cant keep the lead, it goes a full 16 but the Charros have to send bribe gold to the brutal AFC East

NFC

2 Woodington vs 5 Destroilet - Stunner Destroilet steals this one. Woodington should win this falling away and the toileteers nuffle their way to the championship game!sure

1 Baynanananarama 6 Atlatl - Atlatl should never have made it this far without player pics and while better equipped to deal with the elves than the dorfs. Grabbers take the gentleman's 2:1 win

1 Green Baynana vs 5 Destroilet - This game goes to OT and only thru a power glitch and Chinese dice hack where the Grabbers steal another superbowl appearance

AFC
5 New ziggy vs 6 Denver - The Brontos take the early lead but cant keep up in this highest scoring game of the postseason New Ziggy steals the win either t16 or OT for the 3:2 win

1 Cleaved vs 7 Tijuana - This is a damn interesting game it's 1:1 at the end of regulation. Coinflip for OT decides the winner. Cleaved has bribed the coinflipper and takes it down.

1 Cleaved vs 5 New Ziggy - New Ziggy tried to make this a high scoring affair but Cleaved relys on their OT coinflip prowess to steal another 2:1 OT win

Superbowl
Cleaved vs Green Bananarama and Cleaved steals a 3rd win in a row by OT coinflipping! I know taking the #1 vs the #1 is a big stretch but the path there was wild!
