Hi.
I'm running a league and at some cases it's not that easy to decide who will forfeit a game. Sometimes both have made an effort or it's server down time that stopped the game form happening. And other times non deserve a point.

What I'm suggesting is that there is more options to choose from when forfeiting games. Team A win, Team B win, Both loose, Both win and Draw. Ofcourse the points should be determined in the Tournament configuration.

Also, it would be great to be able to go back and change the forfeit choice. Make a "button" like the green ones to see match reports, but in a different color. Admins will get the options th change, while players will see what the decision was.

As I said.
If the server was down the only time both could play (within the timeframe for that round) or a power failure. Then non of them are to blaim for the game not happening.

From a game management perspective, it's a terrible idea to ever award more than one match worth of points. Despite circumstances, a double-win should never be considered an option - it's simply unfair to the coaches that are getting their matches played properly. A double-loss though, that's a great idea when it's obvious that both coaches haven't bothered to try to get the game played.

And you're right - it is often difficult to decide who is at fault and what the best decision is as a league manager. That's why they pay you the big bucks!

But the "both win" option could be sett at a lower point that a real win.

yupp. But that option is not there in the current forfeit options.

The way we do it in our league:
Games played
3p - Win
1p - Draw
0p - Loss

Forfeit games (I have to adjust scores)
3p - WO win (opponent is no show or admitted guilt)
1p - Force Majore draw. Game was arranged but force majore stopped it. (formally called "both win", but name changed to avoid confusion)
0p - Draw. Both have logged into fumbbl, but no one took initaitive.
-1p - Loss. Not logged in or admitted guilt.

well, admin always decides how to give the points to their league, so if he want to give the points both coaches, it will be his decission.

Anyway is not so important thought, cause u could edit scores and gives as points as u want to, to any coach.

Just the swiss formats cant edit scores.

And at the end of the league, some of the leagues i have run, cant edit scores and sometimes it doesnt show the real winner of the group

I've used "edit scores" to decide how to award WO games. But it's not easy to see who have been given what. If there is more forfeit options, them the coaches can see how I've called it.

In swiss one realy need to have that extra option, as it affect who they'll meet. One can ofcourse adjust scores before forfeiting, but it's not a smooth way to do it.
Agree on the "end tournament" problem. I try to remember to adjust the scores before I do the forfeit.

@ Pythrr: If you bothered to read my post regarding how I distribute points in my league. You'd see that there is a difference between a draw and a force majore draw (what I've previously called "both win"). I'd admit that "both win" is a bad name for it. But if you can't look beyond the name and actually comment on the subject. Then please save us your stupid comments.

To be fair, you can adjust points manually.

Indeed. I direct Chewie's sensible answer to the OP's rudeness.
