Okay.
Not match reports, but first round matchups I want to spec:
Karma Geddon VS Wild Dragons
Duke's unstoppable Boxing Woodies run into a R Major winner in Cribble. Lots of kill skills, but the Dragons face this stuff day in and day out. 2-1 to the Dragons.
Azure Claw Squad VS Angry Newscasters
Killfest! One of the best bashers in the Box meets one of the hardest hitters in R. I think to be honest that Azure will win this one with relative ease...his team is built for winning, but the casualties he could take here might affect his chances. I wouldn't want to pick Azure for the final winner without seeing how this one goes.
2-0 Azure Claw Squad
Chuck Vs Bloodbowl Vs Up to Scale
Fresh from the mauling they took at the Lustrian Cup, Up to Scale have themselves a real challenge in Chuck. That said, they have 590k of inducements...and Lizardmen are one of the best teams out there for inducement use. This one probably won't be an easy one for RO. Still, 11 men, 2 possible reserves from stars...I don't see the wizard making that much of a difference, and while Prov might be one of the best Lizardmen coaches out there, RO is one of the best chaos coaches.
2-1 Chuck (in overtime).
Hope[R] Vs Marvellous Shenanigans
The hope of the Slann in this tournament (see what I did there?) plays off against the luckmeister himself, PeteW...11 man Slann vs 12 man Skaven, but the skaven killer doesn't have tackle to deal with those nasty blitzers. On the flip side, the Slann are packing 2 MB tackle diving tackle blitzers to really dispose of those gutters. PeteW will need every ounce of his positional skill to come out of this one I think.
2-3 Marvels. I think this could be one of those games where a turn 16 1tt makes the final difference...
Those are my picks of the first round games. I would have done the Dolls vs Smashak game...but that's already done!
Anyone else got any good first round ones to spectate? |

I got 2cents here.
Colourful Characters to win it, Malmir and his Cd's are nigh unstoppable and he has those Cd's in great form again. Nuffle himself admitted he conceded vs Malmir when Mal's coaching those dude's.
Im also gonna throw some love Propuppetmasters way. The Spectator's Champions have some sick players that give him a chance to pull off anything imaginable on the pitch. Check them out if you havn't already. If the coach can detox in time and keep his head clear during the with a little he could get it done. |

I would say thats 2 solid choices. PeteW is pete and his rats are in there comfort zone getting ready to spend inducement cash. And Ulrik has traditionally done very well in majors with his dinos with several top placements. Only nuffle has denied him his final trophy. |

I would say the team to watch is Kenty's Sleeper in Metropolis. A 4str 4ag werewolf, 2 5str Golems and a ton of Necro experience. I predict he will make the final 16 |

** Upset Alert **
Whille Europe was sleeping Azure Claw Squad goes down in a ball of flame in the opening round. The newscasters were able to hold on in the end and seal the deal.
Spitting the Bit Some had the claw squad squarly in the lead group of teams and based on the match report it looked like a titanic pile up in their KO box. It is possible they were all drunk and did not take the match seriously.
It is late at night so the vast majority of the "press" missed the game. So we will have to wait for a match report or the replayer to come online before we know what actually happened.....its the FUMBBL Cups version of Mike Tyson V Buster Douglas I quess, no one knows what happend except there was a big upset. |
