Welcome to the season thread!
SWL approaches ever closer to the big century with season XCVII, twenty years of promotion and relegation, aiming for the Premier title. So much history, so many champions, perhaps your team will be the future champions!
If you want to change teams, or join the league don't hesitate to write a PM to Wozzaa. QPool is running for your Trial games if you want in, let us see you can run the game and organise to play and such, do ping swladmin if you need in.
Team Redrafts for the teams out of BBC will be posted below, the rest are in the previous season thread.
Redrafts are due by Saturday the 5th of August, we'll force through what we can before kickoff otherwise, and if we can't fix it, you'll probably have to park.

- Schedule
First round will begin on Monday the 7th of August with a round 7 deadline on the 2nd of October!
- Structure
We will likely have 1 Premier, 2 Conferences, and 2 Regional divisions. This is subject to change as league numbers change.
New Rules
- Forfeit wins will gain 2 randomly placed MVPs (in the form of 2x4 added SPP), and 1d6 x 10k gold. For end of season tiebreakers, a forfeit win counts as a 1-0 victory.
- Star players are fully functional in SWL, even the mega-stars, expect to have to deal with 'em.

General Reminders
- Axing
Site PM to the swladmin FUMBBL account by 10pm Monday SWL (Sydney) time if your game has not yet been played. Extensions may be granted only if you send this site PM. If your opponent didn't turn up, send a PM to them that you can copy swladmin into.
- General
Please be aware that we rely on individual coaches to be active in checking this forum, arranging games against opponents, and in communicating with Admins. The responsibility is on the coach to enquire, not the Admins to inform. Please feel free to ask any questions, any time.
- Communication
Please respect each others time and reply to PMs in a timely manner, even if just to say when you'll reply in full. Not everyone uses the discord regularly, site PMs still rule. If your opponent hasn't checked fumbbl, try a ping on discord.
- Discord channels
There are division channels in the league discord, where the axeman can fairly adjudicate any forfeits, rather than using discord DMs that are rather more opaque.
- BB20 Rule Amendments
We will endeavour to maintain our rules as close as possible to those of BB20 in regards to FAQ and Errata changes, taking into account the nature of our league. Rules not yet implemented in the client or website are normally considered sleeping rules, and can be expected to be applied as they are enabled. We are managing manual seasons in the meantime.
Our agents fees are 15k per season, ignoring the player's first three post-season redrafts (including the Trial of Blood for those who played it). Player agent fees will be listed in due course here, along with redraft budgets.

Some validation pending as the tally goblins seem.to have lost count...
Final.tally is in, the previous goblins been fed to the Trolls...
Norse scooting up the ladder to 7 overall wins last regular season. And the Horrible Half Pint Chorfs scratch Hasuts marker onto a SWL (BoBORc) Cup trophy. Can anyone stop their reign of terror?

Season 98! We're here and ready to kick off. What's in store for prem this season? It's an absolutely packed & fearsome division this season, with high quality coaches and teams right at their peak, so without further ado, let's dig in...
First up we've got the Billabong Blue Bloods. D_Arquebus has very, very carefully nurtured these guys up from the trials, with a stellar record - just one loss over the course of 20 games. Taking care to avoid agents fees by sitting out the BBC and taking no chances with random saurus skills, these guys are lean and mean, sporting 5 saurus with block and mighty blow. An early weakness will be only fielding 5 Saurus instead of a full complement, but with 7 fans and Chill (+ma, sprint, sure feet) we suspect this will be a 1 game benefit for his round one opponent.
Team Tilts at the Title: First time with the Blue Bloods
Previous Coach Titles: 2 (Skaven, Skaven)
Strength: Brutal Efficiency
Weaknesses: Werewolves
The hood rhymes roll with crowd favourites Malapropisms Relieved (gods it hurts typing that). BeefyGoodness came oh-so-close to breaking the Tomb King's premiership curse, and are back to finish what they started. Missing their leader, and with a fresh blizter on debut, this collection of old bones & cling wrap are demanding higher pay after 3000 years of indentured servitude. An excellent record again, and most certainly likely to be contending for the title - particularly if they get past round 1 with 5 points.
Team Tilts at the Title: One prior, 2nd place
Previous Coach Titles: None
Strength: Doesn't take casualties
Weaknesses: Bommer Dribblesnot
The Blackwater organisation has been prevalent through much of SWL history, and the Picaroons have certainly earned their place alongside other famed teams of the establishment. The Picaroons landed 4th last season but due to the vagaries of the cup and retiring teams, have stayed up this season. The last of the grand-fathered teams in the SWL, Maleficent Lenestar now has over 50 caps and by my rudimentary calculations sports a hefty 350k in rehire fees at this (hopefully for the rest of us) late stage in her career. As always Amazon seasons are often won or lost over a couple of key turns in a single game, however Foad has guided the Picaroons to two titles already, and are back for a third to match the mighty glee club. Can Maleficent rekindle the spark, or will financial demands and a subpar support cast stymie her ambitions?
Team Tilts at the Title: Fifth time back!
Previous Coach Titles: 5 (Chaos, Chaos, Chaos, Amazons, Amazons)
Strength: Superstar strength
Weaknesses: Boots, Tackle & early turnovers
Facing off against the Picaroons are one of the supposedly weakest teams in BB20 - Chaos Chosen. Questionable Ethics have put together a stomping run & and a very tidy team, with a solidly measured mix of randoms and chosen skills. Grod will be playing on easy mode with all this MA6 after rolling Dwarves at our face previously and with a 3:1 casualty differential he's piling on the pain. Utility player Kendall Rashnak is already a legend of the team with 17 scores from just 19 appearances, whilst brawlers aren't going to want to be anywhere near Arabella's claws. Just one tackle will help the Picaroons get some sleep before their round 1 match.
Team Tilts at the Title: First time
Previous Coach Titles: 1 (Dwarves)
Strength: Potential pitch clearing damage output
Weaknesses: Can be quickly outmuscled by other brawlers
Congratulations to SkittleMosaic & Minutes or Centuries, picking up only the 3rd ever BBC title. It's a title that is dear to your devoted narrator's cold steely heart. With that win, comes the heady heights of premiership promotion! Whilst the Minutes aren't as stacked with skills as previous seasons, the mix is on point. MA8 Sure Hands bull? Check. Hitter bull? Check. Stupid frenzy claw dwarf is still alive? Check. In addition by clearing out some of the past prime players the coach is able to bring 13 players along to game 1, shoring up an oft capitalised on weakness of the chaos dwarf team. There are a couple of teams that are going to be pretrified of the match up, including yours truly, so wish the Minutes or Centuries luck (but not too much) as they take on the Stolen Golems round one...
Team Tilts at the Title: Four, plus the BBC
Previous Coach Titles: 1 (BBC - Chaos Dwarves)
Strength: MA8 S4 bull/ball carrier...
Weaknesses: 2 rerolls and light on for the hobgoblin skills
Dazedmw is back - and no woodies this time, having joined the Werewolf fan club with the poor wood elf roster being repeatedly hammered of late, somewhat akin to my mortgage repayments. This is another well sculpted roster with a couple of absolutely clutch players in Rosses - an MA9 ghoul, and Pools (block guard zombie). Wraiths relatively fresh but their skillset is amazing out of the box, Dazedmw will be looking to this season as one that he can certainly take a maiden SWL title. Lots of sweepers, sf, ss and pace will mean that teams will need to go through the Stolen Golem. If regen can get through their round one match these guys will be hard to stop.
Team Tilts at the Title: First time
Previous Coach Titles: Nil ... yet
Strength: Rosses the Super ghoul
Weaknesses: Necro teams live and die by the 3+
Nothing says BB20 Prem division like the Turbo Wolves. Back for a 6th crack at the title our second Necromantic team have already placed 3rd twice and 2nd twice. With Hunter Sorensen having been forcibly retired by Flower Beard, the nightmarish doggy duo has finally been broken up. Holding on the "The Klaw" has cost the team dearly, with Desmond wolf coming in as a disposable hitter, the ghoul squad has been depleted With a second runner waiting in the wings for hire, JamesDSF is going to want to put prior seasons slipping through his furry wolf fingers behind and get a Turbo charged start to season 98.
Team Tilts at the Title: Back for a sixth
Previous Coach Titles: None - but oh so close!
Strength: The Klaw is vying with Maleficent Lenestar as the storied player of the tournament, coach will be putting a lot of pressure on Kate.
Weaknesses: VORP is really, really poor for their top tier players
Lastly, is yours truly - the ultimate underdogs for the season. Completely outskilled on team size, team development, legendary players and having sat for months on the sidelines after a commissioners inquiry took the coach out of the BBC, coach Sem is going to be up for his greatest challenge yet. It's lucky that his players have such thick skulls as otherwise they'd likely have packed up and left long ago. It's time for the muscle stacked guns to get back in the sun & pack on the pounds before we get rinsed! Come along and cheer for your favourite, bestest looking bloodbowl team - we'll need your support!!!
Team Tilts at the Title: 3rd time
Previous Coach Titles: Two for the Guns & a BBC for the Fun Police
Strength: Complete and utter disregard for his players
Weaknesses: His players
Predictions....
1st Place: Billabong Blue Bloods. Team development and coach are absolutely on point in the team's ascendancy. Did I mention only 1 loss?
2nd Place: Turbo Wolves. Could easily take the title if they get the reserves up to speed.
3rd Place: Questionable Ethics. Coach is too good not to be top 3. |
