Originally started on FUMBBL in order to play league games against my sister and other friends to experiment with team builds for our tabletop league. However, after playing a lot of games against only a few people (the TT league disbanded), I wanted to try out my skills in some of the competitive divisions. I ended up choosing Black Box (due to this being pre-gamefinder and not ever having used IRC), so I built a few teams and quickly realized how fun it was to play there. I’ve always been of the mindset that Black Box is perfect the way it is because it forced me to play very good coaches and teams when my natural inclination would have been to avoid them. Because of that, I learned a lot quickly. I have some typical Box bash teams (and after a particularly brutal beatdown I’ll take refuge in playing a few matches with my Russianz), but even more than bash I like the challenge of taking on the best of the Box with agile or hybrid teams. Have also started building a few teams in Ranked for two main reasons: to take part in more tournaments and because finding games during my available times can be… difficult.

Times I am available to play (all based on server time):
Tuesday: 2:00 – 8:00 (especially 2:00-4:00)
Wednesday: not available
Thursday: 2:00 – 8:00 (best weekday to schedule)
Friday: 2:00 – 8:00
Saturday: 2:00 – 9:00, then various times after 17:00
Sunday: midnight – 9:00, then various times after 17:00
Monday: midnight - 8:00

Additionally, I can try to play very early morning (for me) on weekdays: the match would have to begin at 15:00 or 15:30. And, finally, I can usually play about a half of a match on my lunch hour, which generally falls between 21:00 and 22:00.

As you can see, the number of coaches online when I am available is limited. As such, I will generally play against anyone available with any team I have laying around. However, I am particularly partial to playing in the Box and will choose to play there over Ranked if given the choice, since my favorite teams and groups are in Black Box. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Human League Premiership (probably my favorite group on FUMBBL), running Black Box Sprints (especially with my High Elves way back when), and ARR! (OGARRS!). I am looking forward to playing more tournaments, though my time zone makes playing matches generally difficult.
