Inducements!
Hey all,
I'm used to buying a wizard after 150k TV. I loved that freaking thing. Now that it's gone I've been going with a babe and a bribe but I feel like I don't get anywhere near the same mileage out of thees inducements.

What have you been doing in place of the wizard? I'm thinking I should start buying more cards since the tricks set seems to be much stronger than I remember it.

Anyone have any tips or strategies for some amateur coach like myself? Let me know. Have a good one.

2 babes and a card for me... But I usually use squishy teams.

It's really game dependent.
Sometimes Stars are the best option, other's a babe and bribe or apo

Dirty Tricks contain some "mini-wiz" type cards (pit trap, custard pie) I normally take a gamble and go for one or two of those and get a babe or two with the rest of the cash depending on the team type I am playing with/against. There are only a couple of duff dirty tricks and if you get those just hold onto them so the oppo has to play like you have a pit trap.

Pit-trap almost killed me last game! Will have to explore that deck.

dirty tricks aren't bad... but I'd take a wizard over 3 tricks for sure! =)

I like stars. Particularly ones with bombs.

Eldril is a very good star for elves, and now they can use treasury gold to top up the difference. Nice! :)

I get cards, but only if I can get 4 or more of them so I have a good chance of getting a good one. There are several powerful cards but there are some that are really situational. More often I will get an apothecary and/or babes, because I'm usually playing squishy teams.

Before the Piling On nerf I would always get a bribe if I was playing against Piling On, and maybe even a DP merc or try to go for the Kicking Boots card. Anything to punish people for piling on.

Having one card is nice as bluff element.
Even if you don't have Pit Trap the simple threat of it might encourage a stalling opponent to score 1 turn earlier.
About taking a babe or 2: if I have a decent bench, AV 8+ and I'm not playing vs Clawmb teams I don't take a babe, but if I play an AV 7 team and/or I expect to suffer many KOs then I induce one or two, generally speaking.

DP Lineman!
Posted by Beanchilla on 2017-05-02 22:52:11
DP lineman? You can't get one as an inducement can you? You mean just get a bribe?

Also, you guys have a good point about buying a few cards. I also had forgotten that I can use treasury to top it off. A bunch of my teams have leftover cash so I guess I ought to use it before EM catches up to me.

Thanks for the tips.

You can indeed get a DP lineman, assuming your team has linemen with G access (or one with any other single normal skill). It's not cheap though. Standard 30k premium for the merc, and 50k for the skill -it costs a total of 80k above the player's normal rookie value. Rarely worth it, but rarely isn't the same as never.
