Player Portraits
I work as an artist but not an illustrator so not sure whether I'm the right person to do the player portraits on fumbbl. But if people like I would be happy to help the community by assisting in making the 2-d art work for the new client.

Anyhow I present these sketches of the Human team as an example of my work. I don't know enough about photoshop to colour them to a professional standard. If anyone fancies a go I'd be happy to email them the original scans to work with.

I say yes.

If you could create a complete set and get some help with colouring then these would be freeking awesome mate, definitely something worth looking into

Damn these are good.....

Those are awesome, i'd love a set of like this rather than being stuck with the cartoony style we've had so far.

Awesome!
I don't even think they need colour, but I might be able to help colour them if needed.

Very, very nice!

Really nice, I like them in black and white though...
Posted by Gran on 2010-04-20 23:07:33
These are really nice in black and white. After resize however, there is a risk that they may appear a bit smudgy, and some of that great detail might be lost. I don't know if colour would help with that though.

That aside: Awesome!

Awesome ! I think it needed to be said once more :)

21st to rate it a 6. The thrower is a 7 by the way
Posted by Gran on 2010-04-20 23:24:16
I just tried resizing the blitzer into 95x147 and it still looks really good. Some areas get quite small though, such as face and hands, and with the right colours I think this might be helped a bit.
Posted by avien on 2010-04-20 23:35:05
I think they look gorgeous, perhaps even better, if someone coloured them in a professional way.

Asuming the picture format is still 169x114 in the new client:

hellah nice mate.

As much as I love the pic, I think the throwers hands need a bit of work

Holy handbag Batman, look at those illustrations.
Posted by Hogshine on 2010-04-21 01:21:40
So, I guess I was the 34th person to rate this a 6. That should tell you all you need to about how awesome the pictures are :D

The thrower is indeed brilliant, and if they could be resized/coloured it would be great to see them in the FFB client. :)

Maybe you should mail these to GW with a application :)
Very nice work.

Coloring them in Shop isn't too hard. Just set the layer with the drawing to multiply and colour it on a second layer beneath. Or you can set the brush to multiply and just paint over it. Great illustrations btw :)

Nah, ...k I make an example and post it here later.

Wow they are just amazing. Now if you could just do the same for every player in the game and let us use them for LRB5/6 ;) lol. Seriously though amazing pics, I don't even think they need colour, they are perfect as they are

nice work !

These remind me of that Aha video from the mid '80's, where the girls gets pulled into the comic book. That is to say, they look old-school professional. Great work!

These look great. I don't get who didn't vote this a six as it is someone offering to give up their time, for free, to help the site, with a very high standard of work. It just goes to show that someone giving away free cash still wouldn't manage a rated 6 blog.
