Shadowing most useless skill?
I beg to differ!

Admittedly it's only useful once in a while and have very little impact on the actual game, but in my lastest outing, shadowing played a wee part in keeping my opponent from fecthing the ball after my blitz at the beginning of second half, turning the tide for me.

Granted, this play came down to luck, but other than the odd KO my aptly named assassin Finnegan Pinch is more or less useless and only good at drawing the attention of opposing big guys.

Any thought on assassins? I regret purchasing him instead a WE, but how the average Fumbbl view this black sheep of the DE clan?

I actually like Shadowing, at least when I have used it on Cyanides game, I havent really experimented with it on here tho tbh..

When I have used it (and it has worked) I've been impressed by the results!, It is not only free momement for your player (of a sort), but it is free Tackle Zone, setting up future Block (or stab on Assasin), and alot of the time the opponent wont stop moving despite your shadowing, so on every move has to roll a dodge roll to move (which as we all know is a risk, maybe not great for Elves but the rtisk still exists), and best of all like many skills (you dont have to use it) so if it looks like your opponent is trying to set your shadower up in a Trap you can just not shadow any more.

Im not 100% certain but I think it works best against high MA players - I may be mistaken on that tho?

I don't think anyone has said shadowing was _especially_ bad. I mean, it's unlikely to be taken by a lot of players, if only because the kind of guys who have the speed to use it a) don't get dodged away from a lot, and b) have access to a better deterrent in diving tackle. But the worst? Nah, it's two stars out of four. Diving catch and sneaky git _wish_ they were shadowing.

I would put it on a basher: it's another dice rolled for the opponent, another dodge roll he or she has to take, and then another dice rolled to overshadow again. does anyone remember that every roll is a potential failure and this game is definitely about risk management?

I like Shadowing, I think its a good skill. VLL and sneaky git are clearly the worst by a long long way.

I like shadowing, its easy to surf players who have shadowing if the enemy coach isnt paying attention, just keep on moving that shadowing player closer to the side line and then boom!

Sneaky Git, hands down, worst skill. Not even close.

VLL and PB are crap too. Might be ok if PB went away, and was rolled into VLL, with the VLL allowing you to move/jump/lunge a few extra squares to try and make an interception.

Haha Rasmus, the human player is also named Rabe, one of those small puns Nuffle is so famous for :) Must have hurt as nails though that game, for the Vampire player auch

The issue with all the "worst" skills in Blood Bowl is that they are all very situational or positional in nature. By themselves they have 0 impact.

VLL...well, right off the bat you need Leap. The limits it totally.

Snaeaky Git: Great skill for no assist fouls. The minute you add 6 assists oon the foul, you just negated any benefit that sneaky git just gave you. SG is for solo fouls to end turns, you get lucky and break the armor or no effect.

Pass Block...First you need your opponeet to pass the ball and then second you need to be with in 3 squares to make a difference.

Diving Catch is very situational but less than Pass Block.
It can reduce the range required to pass the ball to a Diving Catch player,
compensate the -1 catch modifier for tackle zone and allows to catch the ball at kick off when it ends near a catcher, Pass Block is used only when your opponent decides to pass the ball, a rare occurrence generally speaking.
DC is not a skill I'd take, but since Slann ridiculous catchers have it I use it sometimes.

Pass Block is great for AG5 players. I've never taken Diving Catch.

If you want to have fun with DC, you can take hail mary pass. Maybe not game-breaking but at least you can have fun with it.

Diving Catch is THE skill for human catchers. Actually makes passing a viable solution. Shadowing is ok, but probably there are better skills to pick.

Assassins are kinda lame. They die way more than they kill, should call'em "Suicidal Elves" or "Emo". Imo.
