New olympic record
Canada : the first country in the history of the winter olympics to get 14 gold medals. We rule! \o/

We had to host the olympics 3 times before we finally won a gold medal at home, but once we got our first, they just kept on coming! :)

Lets be honest, they won the important one in the end! The rest are just bonus-golds. :)

True, the ice hockey will be sufficient smug for my Canadian cousins, uncles and aunts for some time to come.

I wonder how the Summer Olympics needed to be hosted so that you now could win 14 medals in a Winter Olympics ...
or how else do you come to the three times host ;)

2 Winter (Calgary '88, Vancouver '10), 1 Summer (Montreal '76)

Grats though.

US also set a new record for total medals with 37.

Simple f_alk. We won zero gold in Montreal in 76, zero gold in Calgary in 88, and we finally got our first gold at home in Vancouver in 2010. We liked that gold so much that we got 13 more!
