No Crown of Sand for the Incoming Nightmare.
Sorry folks, just so you know, my Chaos Dwarf qualifier winner team has been ejected of the CoS Main Draw.

The reason is quite simple, I had a single skill roll (frenzy...) pending when the draw was made and the computer couldn't include my team in it because of that.

This means an admin decided to eject me from the group, trying to apply a Fumbbl site rules to explain that, and stating he needs to update the rules because they can me misunderstood.

So, all in all, even if I have tons of arguments here, my team is ejected and the loser CD runner-up takes me place. My point of view is useless and not even considered by another party.

As I said, I think rules must be respected to keep a certain order, I also think the sanctions taken can be flexible, but that is not everyone's opinion apparently.

Sorry for this horrible huge mistake, I am deeply discouraged about this situation and I feel ashamed for this community.

Feel free to trash talk, I did not write this blog to get your support, but to denounce this situation.

"Teams must be 'ready to play' to enter a Tournament. If you have won a Qualifer then you must make sure your team is 'ready to play' before the main draw. "
Probably if you were online during a draw admins could just say you that again and situation would have been fixed, but otherwise not much they can do.

According the main draw date was shown I maybe could have showed up to those admins. Apparently they couldn't show me where it was shown.

"Deadlines for the official tournaments are Wednesdays at 22:00."
Probably draw was somewhere around that time.

As a member of the Tournament Staff, and someone who is a part of the group that handles the action you are complaining about, let me give you my point of view.

The "ready to play" rule has been around for *YEARS*. You are not a newbie to the tournament scene. You should be aware of the rules of the tournament that you are applying for, and given that every official tournament page has a link to the official tournament rules, "I didn't know" is not a reasonable answer.

Your final match was March 18th. 5 days before the final draw. You had *PLENTY* of time to set a skill for your player, and be ready for the draw.

In the years, and years, that I've been doing tournaments, I can think of maybe 3 times, including this one, that people have not skilled up for a finals bracket. Ironically enough, the last time was for the Exploding Cup this month, and the coach involved in that incident took the same stance that you're taking....the victim stance.

We, as admins, are held to a certain standard, and we get raked across the coals if we step out of line, and rightfully so.

But, you, as coaches, have a certain standard that we hold you to, and when you mess up.....*WE* suffer the barbs, not you.

You messed up. Plain and simple. You didn't follow the rules. It's a simple rule. Ready your team. You chose not to, for whatever reason.

This is not a fault of the Tournament Staff.

Sorry about your luck, next time, follow the rules.
