Coach Neubau sits in his slightly uncomfortable golden chair, the huge desk in front of him is littered with sheets of plays, set pieces and tactics. One of the drawers emits a faint, but noticeable green glow and a few remnants of green dust are still visible on stubble of the 49ers head coach. He hasnt slept in days and his eyes nervously dart from sheet to sheet and to the glowing drawer. This isn't the best time for an interview, he had to prepare for the match against the Scimitars, but when would ever be a good time to talk to the press instead of brooding over the gameplan? He sighed, bade the reporters in and gave his pet octupus a last stroke before he put him back into his tank.


Neubau: Gentlemen, Welcome to San Luis. I hope you had a pleasant arrival, the gold nuggets you were given are yours, I hope you take them as a gesture of good-will. This is the first time I speak to the press, I don't intend to do it often.

Frederigo: Frederigo Arrabal of the San Luis Times here, congratulations on a very good start. Three wins and a draw in four games is better than expected, is it?

Neubau: Thank you. And no, we anticipated this, in fact the team is very dissapointed to not have four wins. We suspect the league wanted to give the new coach of the Nuln Gunners a welcome present as there is no other explanation for a pitch invasion that only targets our players in a home game. The game against the Eagles was also not our best performance, the amount of players leaving the pitch shall not happen again.

Albert: Albert Flinkfeder, Middenheim Kurier. This is the first time we can ask you about the draft, what were your goals and are you satisfied with the players you got?

Neubau: Oh yes. Hopkins at #5 is a steal, hes a game winner and with Minter we got an immovable roadblock who can take a hit and protect others. The goal in this draft was to get players that can create space for our mobile players and keep that space unoccupied. We also aimed to improve our line of scrimmage with sturdy players.

Albert: Not only was the draft a success, your veterans also improved a lot. There are rumours that some Broekwater Skaven provided the team with warpstone, a forbidden substance according to DLE regulatories. Others say the training camp in Sylvania hosted by the Von Carsteins left an impression on some players - in the form of bite marks.

Neubau glances nervously at the drawer. His eyes twitch.

Neubau: Everyone knows ratmen don't exist, stop the fear mongering. Next you tell me Flashfurt can't win against the Sluggers. And who in the old world would let himself getting bitten by a vampire? The Von Carsteins are dear friends to me and big fans of the 49ers, the training camp in the Hell Fenn aimed to improve the resilience of the team.

Albert: But there are Skaven teams playing Blood Bowl! And Flashfurt only tied agains Talabheim, And isn't Jeffery's nickname literally "The Vampire"?

Neubau: We're on to Wolfsbach.

Albert: But coach Neub...

Neubau: We're on to Wolfsbach.

Frederigo: Lets switch the topic, any tactical insights on how you want to beat the Scimitars?

Neubau: Wilcox needs to find his punch again, everything else will be done by the mobility of our receiving corps and a stalwart, unmoving defense. If Leo continues his good play i predict a positive outcome. It is an important game and could give us some seperation in a very contested KFC South.

Frederigo: Will the 49ers make the playoffs? It has been quite a turnaround since coach Valen left the team last season.

Neubau: We sure hope so, but we concentrate only on the next game against the Scimitars. Thank you gentlemen, that's it for today.


It wasn't half as bad as the young coach of the 49ers feared, but the nosy journalist of the Middenheim Kurier had to disappear somehow. That should not prove too difficult, Montana and Jeffery hadn't fed in some time. "Back to the gameplan", Neubau thought and opened the glowing drawer.
