higher tv doesnt auto mean better team
alot of focus goes on how chaos, nurgle and pact dominate high tv box. to me this makes perfect sense, as these teams need a high tv to have a well rounded team. chaos and nurgle are still sub par up to about 1800tv.

i believe the focus on high tv is a hangover from lrb4, where higher tv did mean a better team 9/10 times. this is not the case in lrb6, as teams that are strong at low-mid tv, are strong because they have the tools to win already. going higher in tv because u can is now not always the best choice.

most teams (necro, undead, humans, norse, amazons, skaven. orcs elves and dwarves may be included here too though these guys can go higher easier) have close to an optimal team at around 1800-2000tv, give or take. getting higher than this is normally due to bloat, which makes easy pickings for chaos and nurgle.
however a 1850tv human team vs a 2250 chaos team, lets u take a wizard, babe, extra apo and bribe. all put a dent in the typical 2-1 grind employed.
with pomb being as strong as it is, and the apothecary being next to useless, building the ultimate team of 13 lvl 4 players is almost impossible.

the stated goal of perpetual teams was to have their tvs yo-yoing from 1800-2200. po and the apo are in place instead of aging, so no team can get "lucky" on their aging rolls and reach the extreme tv's that were common place in lrb4.

chaos and nurgle are the exception, but thats because they are rubbish teams until 1800+ tv (below 50% win rate i believe), and every skill helps to make em better.

cheers

(as to what lrb is better, refer to stonetrolls blog :P)

p.s as a side note, in leagues as a human coach, i always prefer to be the underdog/equal tv once teams are developed.

So are you saying that coaches should stop complaining once their team exceeds their races sweet TV range?

I also totally disagree with the theroy that having a high TV 2000+ is bad for humans.

IF your TV is that high it means you have a well rounded blitzer core coupled with probally a 14 or 15 man roster. So when you do take on the big chaos teams you can absorb some of the punishment and your players are skilled up across the board.

The 1850 TV Human team {PO/MB Blitzers} + crap linos - Ogre and no DP is the plan of futility in a tournament. For one off matches in the box or gamefinder it is fine because nothing is on the line.
