Java 7u11 for ubuntu/mint
Just thought I'd add a quick guide to updating to the latest java for Ubuntu/mint. This PPA worked perfectly for me, and even automatically installed the new browser plug-in and removed the old one.
Here we go:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-java7-installer
No security issues, after this.

To make sure you got it installed tight type: java -version
in your terminal, and to verify you got the correct browser plug-in visit: http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
