“A great match with a somewhat gutting finale, but overall a solid performance.

Second match in a row v Khemri. This time we started strong for a change with both Les and Bulldog cas'ing and the Blitz-ra failing to regen. Lucan picked up. We advanced across halfway but after Haystacks went dumb on a blitz chance we formed back up in the middle. Haystacks then cas'd another skel (which regn'd) and we had the space to advance. Lucan scored just as some of the Ogres started to get surrounded. There was a lot of Khemri fouls going in which the ref was content to ignore but they were only doing stun damage. A feature of the match.
After a terrible kick Danzig the strong Guardian had the ball. He looked like an unstoppable ball carrier but the Ogres launched into the scrum. They were held back and Les hurt another Tomb Guardian. Eventually a Thro-Ra tried to get into receiving space but fell and we actually had foiled the offence!
2nd half Throzun twice fumbled the ball and it looked like we could benefit but with not enough players around the ball the Khemri got it back with some good hits and a pickup. Bulldog went bonehead just as we needed him to cover the backfield and a Thro-Ra escaped. Bulldog ran back to grab onto him but it just managed to dodge away and sprint its way to the endzone.
So we were left with less than a quarter of the match to score a winner. Lucan had the ball and Les had a chance to create glory with a ttm. Alas he dropped him disappointingly and then a Tomb Guardian blitzed into Lucan and gave him a permanent serious injury! From glory to disaster for the snot in the final moments. (If I had moved Waterboy 1 more square across then the Blitz wouldn't have been on. Very foolish against a top Khemri coach hungry for key scalps, though I was still worried about Ogre hurts.) But at least the apo had saved Giant Haystacks life in the first half when he was delivered what appeared to be a killing blow by Tom-an. Good game.”
