Black Box Brawl CCVII Round 1:

It was a weird game right from the start. Elfball in the box! ... Except with the sun, neither team seemed to be able to move the ball effectively, let alone at all. It was a defensive struggle in every sense of the word with both defenses being "perfect" (yes, both teams had a perfect defense kick-off event to verify it!)

One Thousand Dances With Death (OTDWD) received to start, opening up with a snake eyes from their legendary catcher on a quick pass, this set the stage for arguably the worst game of his career. Elf Yourself managed to score 3 defensive TDs in the first half capitalizing off of the snake eyes pass, a failed long pass in the sun and utilizing a perfect defense to gain possession of the ball.

In the 2nd half, our thrower rolled snakes before attempting a pass deep in his own zone, leaving us exposed, but thankfully OTDWD's legendary catcher fumbled the pick-up with RR (snakes!), we managed to recovery but then failed a pass (this was WE vs WE, right?)... They managed to score to make it 3-1.

Defense was the story, and soon enough, OTDWD were applying the pressure. Our thrower had the ball deep but would need a 2+ dodge (no RR) to escape and attempt a 4+ pass (stupid sun). Thankfully, he dodged successfully and the pass skill came in handy succeeding the 4+ pass, which allowed our catcher to run off and go up 4-1, solidifying the victory.

We later added a late defensive TD to make it 5-1 and a riot wound back the clock just long enough for OTDWD to complete an offensive pass and score late to make it 5-2.

It was a very non-elf-like box elfball game... Almost as if both teams had played so much non-elfball they forgot what it was like! The teams seemed to want to take it easy on one another, compiling a total of 84 blocks but only registering one late casualty.
