“A local derby in the Orc Badlands last night as the Crookfangs travelled over the nearest mountain to play MogTurig. For two teams early in their development it was a good chance to make their mark as well as getting one over on one of their nearest rivals.
Crookfangs won the toss, with captain Krookfang Krag electing to receive. The ball was gathered quickly and moved to Blitzer Baz Borgahz as the offence probed for weaknesses in the defence. As soon as a small gap appeared the Crookfangs caged down the northern widezone, before cutting across to the other widezone to run down the clock. Baz dashed over to score just before half time and the teams trooped off the pitch with the game 1-0.
The second half was an all-out assault on the Croofang defensive line by MogTurig, with the thrower Lugglug Gabtrak carrying the ball into the Crookfangs half. The defence threw themselves into every block and even after losing Blocker Big Vog to a smashed knee they held firm. MogTurig set up a last minute passing play to try and breach the line, but Lugglug was tripped, fell, and the match was over.
All in all a very tense and cagey encounter, with both teams finding it difficult to break armour; only 1 casualty was caused in the entire game.”
