The Sun Bowl Stadium was brilliantly lit as the teams took the field on a sunny Texas afternoon. The regular UTEP fans were off in the world, refusing to wear masks, licking doorknobs and the like. It did leave the few fans who showed up to watch the game horribly outnumbered.

UTEP elected to receive, and in the opening moments of the game, the new anchor of the time, Ethan 'Booger' Smythe decided it would be a good idea to take a nap on the field, which set the pace for the entire first half. The Lions/Lizards proceeded to get up and personal with the UTEP heroes, and there was nothing UTEP could do about it. The entire team has taken an intense dislike of the little star 'Dribl', and will do everything they can to smash it flat and use it's hide to pave coach's parking spot at the stadium. However, even with an early score, and some inspired blocking performed my the UTEP front line, the final push to score was fouled by Saurus Blocker- Reiko Satsuma intercepting what would have been a beautifully thrown pass, with the intended receiver being none other than former human catcher, Cal Norton Jr.

The second half was no better, for no sooner had Booger taken the field, than he decided another nap was in order. (The coaches have decided that the Rotspawn will be doing lots of extra drills before the regular season begins.) UTEP started a tactic of simply removing lizards from the pitch, starting with the most hated Dribl. Kaiso Seizo followed soon after. In a moment of desperation, "Chibo" Nobuhara attempted to handoff the ball to his diminutive teammate, Chuniichi Saadahara, who couldn't quite wrap his arms around the thing. The monster O-ki then left the field on a stretcher as a scrum formed around the ball. Drull stabbed Dan Cohen right off the pitch, earning Drull his first mark for death as Chuniichi failed for the second time to get the ball. Angel Martinez and Kou Setsumo then left the field. "Chibi" Nobuhara was kind enough to knock the ball into the waiting arms of Levi Carlson. This was too much for "Chibi" who then left the field on a stretcher, as Levi made a dash for the endzone with Tomoji Yakusu and Chuniichi hot on his heels. Dirki Jamesonn saw how irate the UTEP players became at that point and decided to wisely leave the field in the care of the apothecary. In the closing minutes of the game, Chuniichi and Drull both left the field on stretchers and Reiko Satsuma, the saurus who had prevented the UTEP score in the first half, saw the errors of his way and decided to come play for UTEP in the future.

The hushed fans got what they came for... lots of blood, and for the bulk of them... their team won.
