Very, very tight match.
Well played, Bloodfeast!

The Strikeforce played a disciplined game, repeatedly keeping my clawed blockers down. Thereby they avoided removals and created a battlefield in which Ripper felt at home.
We tried to counter their strategy by using MA and AG1+ to stretch the field, hunting for plays on the ball.

The first half began as a slow grind. But after removing Fungus and one blitzer, we eventually managed to gain possession. However, we couldn’t take advantage as we failed three separate 2+ rolls (dodges and GFIs).

In H2, our goal was to control the LOS (with claws) while adding gang fouls to cause removals. This never materialized though. After failing to cause much damage in T9 and T10, we foolishly retreated our MA8 carrier towards our own endzone. Big mistake! The Strikeforce used their wizard to attack our carrier. We had no extra protection in the backfield. Luckily the wizard failed. Phew!

After nuffle had saved us, we rushed the ball forward, trusting in speed and agility. The Strikeforce knocked the ball loose and recovered. But with AG1+, Paul always found a path to blitz their carrier. By T15, Paul finally controlled the ball and would have needed 3 GFIs (spread over 2 turns with Pro) for a T16 score. But he failed the first GFI. Hence in T16 we went to our back-up plan, involving a handover to a blocker 4 squares from the endzone. Score, 1-0!
The Strikeforce‘s TTM attempt failed with no re-rolls against a well-placed kick.

This could’ve gone either way. I’m glad we survived.
