In the middle of Season 16 of the DLE, the Marienburg Foxes were forced from their expensive facilities in that city, relocating to Bad Bay for lower rent and a higher profit margin. They struggled to compete with the established Hackers franchise, but gained fans by leaning into the local butchery scene with their logo and motto: Bring It Back Bloody.
At the end of Season 16, the Foxes made a blockbuster trade with the Brionnian Buccaneers, sending them the league’s most sought after blitzer, Randy Savage, in exchange for disposable linemen, draft picks, and three hefty chests of gold. Mysteriously, the ownership moved the team out of Bad Bay in the middle of the night as soon as the wagons arrived with payment, chased hours later by surprised debt collectors.
The team did not stop moving until it reached the cursed city of Mordheim, where a dark deal was struck with the owners there. The former Legionnaires of Mordheim left the city with a chest of unknown contents and struck out for Bad Bay, where they took the Foxes’ moniker and history. Debtors who arrived found the dour and hardened veterans of Mordheim unwilling to pay for the debts of the previous franchise, and directed them to collect it from their old city themselves.
For their part, the new Legion of Mordheim has publicly stated that those debtors are welcome to visit them any time, and have even incorporated the promise of payment into their motto: Come And Take It. Complaints that some see this as a threat have been dismissed by ownership, who assure league administrators that their finances have never been in a better position.
