No one expects mere girl to stand up on the line of scrimmage like a <!-- --> Black Orc, but that's just what these ladies loved to do.<!-- --> </p><!-- --> <div style="font-size: 1.2em; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">Starting out</div><!-- --> <p><!-- --> The girls joined the SWL in season 12, playing in the regional divisions against a range of teams, <!-- --> starting out with ogres, and moving up from there! They joined the SWL to prove that orks are a force to <!-- --> be reckoned with, the SWL isn't all about elf-ball, and dwarf wrestling, but sometimes you can go <!-- --> somewhere in-between. A team like Orcs has the flexibility to grind elves into the ground, and run <!-- --> rings around dwarves (granted they will do so rather slowly, but you get the idea). Mostly though, <!-- --> they like to mash their opponents into the ground <i>"good an proppa like"</i> (hence the team's slogan).<!-- --> </p><!-- --> <div style="font-size: 1.2em; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">Glory Daze</div><!-- --> <p><!-- --> They quickly proved themselves, advancing from the regional divisions, to the conferences, and then <!-- --> immediately to the Premier division. Once they completed their third and fourth seasons, picking up <!-- --> third place, and then second place in Prem, people really started to take note. At the time of writing, <!-- --> they are still the only Amazon team to make their way into the Premier division of the SWL. <!-- --> </p><!-- --> <p><!-- --> After this first run, they were knocked out of the premier division, where they took advantage of having <!-- --> a chance to strengthen the team in the less demanding conference division. The slower pace allowed them <!-- --> to focus on developing a well rounded team, which is something the team prides itself on. They returned <!-- --> to Premier once again, and picked up another second place, followed by a third place finish. Once again, <!-- --> the coveted title was just out of reach. <!-- --> </p><!-- --> <div style="font-size: 1.2em; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">Down but not out</div><!-- --> <p><!-- --> This was the end of their intitial, very successful run in the SWL, as happens with any team, aging and <!-- --> injuries began catching up to the girls. For several seasons, they alternated between the Conference <!-- --> and Premier divisions, picking up trophies in Conferences, and then getting demolished in Premier. All the <!-- --> while, replacing player after player, just trying to rebuild the team. At the worst point, they went through <!-- --> a string of over 15 games (yep, that's two FULL seasons) replacing at least one dead or injured player every <!-- --> single match. Not many teams could have weathered through that sort of carnage, but their early success had <!-- --> garnered them quite a number of fans who continued to support them with just enough winnings to keep at it. <!-- --> </p><!-- --> <p><!-- --> Eventually, the flood of casualties subsided, and the team started getting back into shape. The money <!-- --> continued to flow in, however, it wasn't disappearing quite so quickly, at one point, they had amassed a <!-- --> whopping 340k in the bank!<!-- --> </p><!-- --> <div style="font-size: 1.2em; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">Happy Endings</div><!-- --> <p><!-- --> Finally, in season 31, they joined the list of Premiership title holders in one of the most closely <!-- --> contested seasons for quite some time. It took all their savings, to hire a wizard (who became a near <!-- --> permanent part of their roster), and once or twice, they lashed out to bring Zara onto the pitch. <!-- --> Even throwing money around as they did, it still took a whole bunch of luck to take out some very <!-- --> unexpected wins against teams that were far stronger on paper.
