The newly formed Gurnard Gunners have been unofficially playing a game resembling Blood Bowl along the northern coast of the Isle of Wight for a number of years. Their small stadium (well actually you would call it a field) in the middle of Gurnard Marsh is a difficult place to play Blood Bowl....the field often floods and does tend to lend itself to the agility of the High Elves that live in this region. They are found leaping and bouncing through the Gurnard Marsh, rushing and passing the football to village mates. Players from the team are so superstitious that the sing songs about "The Luck", which is the stream that spills into the Solent seperating the Isle from mainland England. A weird nuance to their version of Blood Bowl in the village is that games played at their home field are only played to 7 turns each half because they are very superstitious about the Luck of the number 7 and the fact that it's a prime number as well. In fact NO member of their team is allowed to wear the number 7, for fear of upsetting the Elven gods that they worship. Word of the Wight Isle Blood Bowl League spread to Gurnard from folk tales that have been growing along the northern coast as sailors stop in the local pub for a pint of the local ale.....the Gurnard Gunners play a fast, exciting brand of football and would love the opportunity to gain more experience and fame for there village by becoming a member of the League.
