Welcome to the season thread!

C's the season, the 100th season of the Southern Wastes League.

If you want to change teams, or join the league don't hesitate to write a site PM to Irgy (today!). First Draft for what roster you get is Wed 13th March, late drafts have a more limited selection to help balance out the league and provide some variety.

Team Redrafts for the previous season teams will be posted below (ready your teams after game 7!), any unparking teams will be pointed to where they last played if they aren't done yet.

Redrafts are due by Saturday 23rd March, we'll force through what we can before kickoff otherwise, and if we can't fix it, you'll probably have to park.

Full dates:

  • Sat 23 Mar: Redrafts for returning teams due.
  • Mon 25 Mar: Kickoff, Trial closes, targets notified.
  • Wed 27 Mar: Trail teams redraft due, slotted in.

  • Mon 8th Apr: Round 1 due.
  • Mon 15th Apr: Round 2 due.
  • Mon 22nd Apr: Round 3 due.
  • Mon 29th Apr: Round 4 due.
  • Mon 6th May: Round 5 due.
  • Mon 13th May: Round 6 due.
  • Mon 20th May: Round 7 due, Draft for new teams, Trial starts.
  • Wed 22nd May: Redraft targets and Agents fees notified.

Season C
  • Schedule
    First round will begin on Monday the 25th of March with a round 7 deadline on the 20th of May! First round is two weeks, rest one week.

  • Structure
    We will likely have 1 Premier, 2 Conferences, and 2 Regional divisions. This is subject to change as league numbers change, we get a few late parkers and drafters shake things up usually.


Newer Rules
  • Star players continue to enter SWL in full form, even the mega-stars, expect to have to deal with 'em.

Recently Implemented
  • Forfeit wins will gain 2 randomly placed MVPs (in the form of 2x4 added SPP), and 1d6 x 10k gold. For end of season tiebreakers, a forfeit win counts as a 1-0 victory.
  • Changes to the Rock, Paper & Scissors system to help with league balance.
  • Regionals promotion / relegation changes.

General Reminders
  • Axing
    Image
    Alert the @Axeman on the discord, a message to them in your private scheduling thread lets the appropriate admin see what's holding things up. If you want an extension, have a time and day set to play (up to a couple days late), and alert the @Axeman the same way, before the due dates, 10pm on Mondays.

  • General
    Please be aware that we rely on individual coaches to be active in checking this forum, arranging games against opponents, and in communicating with Admins. The responsibility is on the coach to enquire, not the Admins to inform. Please feel free to ask any questions, any time.

  • Communication
    Please respect each others time and reply to scheduling chat in a timely manner, even if just to say when you'll reply in full. If you don't use discord regularly, or get the pings from your scheduling threads or whatever, it's 2024 man, come on, join us in the future already. Season 100!

  • Discord channels
    There is a scheduling-threads channel, where coaches can start private threads and @ their opponent to have a nice private chat that always pings everyone you invite in. Unless they turn it off and forget, but hey, we do our best.

  • BB20 Rule Amendments
    We will endeavour to maintain our rules as close as possible to those of BB20 in regards to FAQ and Errata changes, taking into account the nature of our league. Rules not yet implemented in the client or website are normally considered sleeping rules, and can be expected to be applied as they are enabled. We are managing manual seasons since forever now.

    Our agents fees are 15k per season, ignoring the player's first three post-season redrafts (including the Trial of Blood for those who played it). Player agent fees will be listed in due course lower in this thread, along with redraft budgets.
