The Preamble
With the Bob Borc Cup coming up there is some concern from Cabalvision executives that they might lose viewers. Despite the excitement generated by the tournament, some fans may simply stop watching after the first round if their favourite team loses. Having sent a letter to the The Virtuous Institute of Lesions, Laceration & Amputations for Illustrious Noble Scholars seeking their academic advice, Dr DustBunny has proposed a solution!
Each team who wishes to participate can pull together a smaller version of themselves, thereby expanding their 'club' and offering new and exciting ways for Cabalvision to generate advertising revenue. These 'stunty' teams wouldn't play 'conventional' Blood Bowl but would allow for regular play during (and potentially after) the Bob Borc Cup!
The League
Each active SWL team that wishes to participate can create a miniature version of itself. This will be a Stunty Leeg team, with each 'regular' team having a predetermined set of options for which Stunty race they can select. For example I would bring the Madness Molehill Misery, everyones favourite Nurglings. Little fan favourites such as TheTeaSpoonyBard, Master_Foulscumm, and StoneGoblin would be on the squad. These teams would only be for use in whatever this league gets called.
The idea is to run a season during the BoB Borc cup using the same deadlines normally applied for SWL. For the inaugural season the format would consist of several conferences, and then a small playoff bracket to name the first champion. The size and number of the conferences would be determined by the number of players. In the event it's not a round number I propose we could seek out hilarious coaches from the world over to participate in the event (as long as they commit to SWL times). I figure there are probably a few WIL'ers out there who would relish a chance to chainsaw some SWL coaches. Failing that I'd look for a pool of eager SWL coaches willing to play a random team for the season. No 'second' team for SWL coaches will be viable to make playoffs in the inaugural season (for simplicity).
If interest stays high I would then like to run it alongside every SWL season, using the same format as SWL for prem, conf, reggies etc. Then every year during the Bob Borc Cup, a flat conference series with playoffs could be run as a 'special' round (assumption being that there could be a spike in interest during this period, but not the others).
As the teams are tied to a 'club' of sorts, they may only compete so long as their SWL counterpart can (i.e. so long as they aren't canned/parked for too long). Obviously any wild cards we can pull in from around the world aren't subject to this restriction, but if they can commit for multiple seasons in the time zone they would be actively encouraged to join SWL. All teams may only play in these events, as per the rules for regular SWL teams.
Also, maybe we use a spiked ball?
Post-Amble
First off, this is a half cooked rambling idea that i'm brain dumping down on a Sunday morning. I haven't discussed this with the Admin team yet. If people are interested in the concept I'll put the work in and get the whole thing codified (assuming the Admins think it's manageable as well).
Second off, anyone with any suggestions feel free to add them below or PM them to me.
Third off, if it happens i'm going to need some people to build trophies etc!

Inaugural Season
I will make the draw Saturday morning my time UK (6th August) so Saturday evening SWL. I'll confirm a time as I get closer, but it may be hangover dependent! Schedule will run in parallel to the Bob Borc Cup for deadlines. If the number of coaches changes this will be reviewed.
With 8 players there will be a single round robin pool.
Winner will be the winner of the pool. If more players join up this will extend.
Standard rules will be in effect (no spiked ball for now).

Most likley Pro Halflings at this stage. H'elfs are a tricky one.
Due to their being fewer stunty teams than there are normal teams, there will be some oddball 'mini' variants. If this goes ahead I'll aim to allow some degree of flexibility with team selection (with 2-3 predetermined races for 'tricky' teams). The caveat would be that there would need to be thematic reasoning.
For example Skaven could go Skryre or Eshin depending on how they fit in to things. But Nurgle could go Nurglings (obviously) or a secondary as Skryre as they are spreading the good ole pestilence. |

Sorry that was tongue in cheek. It is a cool concept. However I have 3 games on at the moment (CBBA, SSL, SWL/BB) so I won't be able to play. Plus I am planning to win the BB cup, you know, so that will be one game a week  |

Pygmies seem the only counter for human teams. Maybe pro flings but they seem the only elf counter unless you relate forest gobs with woodies and any stab team with delves. I suspect they'll be a few tenuous links, just use the fluff Luke! |
