Ladies and Gentlemen!
First I'd like to thank you all for participating in this big change from SWL standard procedure. I think we've had a successful cup thus far, with some big matches, the thrill of random draws, and great speccing numbers. Some teams have outperformed expectations, and big names have gone down in flames. We're all keen to know when and where the final is - let's hope it's a corker.
The format of the Cup is being reviewed by the admin team, and next time around we'll be looking to keep more teams playing more games while still retaining a random KO aspect for the thrillz.
Now for some housekeeping:
PARKING
For those of you who parked during the cup, this is your chance now to get back into the action! Next season (66) will be starting shortly, so if you want in, a PM requesting an UNPARK is required. Send it to Tomay, and include swladmin in the thread. If you are unsure of your parked/unparked status, you can find out by contacting us, or availing yourself of the Teams tab on the SWL GROUP PAGE. If you have a 65 or similar next to your team name, it means you're parked, so get back into the action and keep building that Legend!
DRAFTING
There is still time to draft for season 66! There are still spots open for the keen Khemri, Chaos Dwarf, Ogre, Vamp, Pro Elf and Slann coach, so get in now! Once again, PM Tomay+swladmin with your preferences from our Secondary Draft shortlist.
NEXT SEASON
Next season is due to start officially on the 26th of September. With our traditional 2-week first round, this means that our Competitive year will end on the 21st of November - a little earlier than is usual. To cater for this, and to keep people keen, the Admin team are looking to keep the holiday bloodbowl pumping.
In Fringe, we have our now traditional, post-christmas invasion of the Deserted Isles - the Waikikamukau tournament. Word is that the DIBBLers are planning their own invasion this year; let's keep the cup in SWL hands!
The Big One of course is the URN - SWL and WIL battling out to claim the ultimate honour of Best League. This tournament always features incredibly spec-worthy games.
For those who just want to keep playing or building those teams, we have a couple of other options in the works - Thunderdome is getting a revamp at present to factor in Fringe rep, and talks are underway to possibly get a SWL-only NAF tourney for the Silly season...!
Dates for the Holiday Tournaments will be announced in the Season 66 Forum thread when we have finalised our calendar and kicked the WIL coaches from their torpor. |
