Stunty Slam Skill Selection
Fellow FUMBBLer's I call upon your collective knowledge to make my attempt at consecutive Wooden Spoon Award acquisition look as legitimate as possible. In the upcoming Waterbowl Stunty Slam I have decided to take a team of Ogres with 6 Ogres and 8 Snotlings. My dilemma revolves around what skill choices to take in their chosen format for this year, we have 100k to "spend" on skills, they come in three tiers and cost 40, 20 and 10 from tier 1 down to tier 3. Having chosen quite deliberately to forego team Re-Rolls I may need to cover some in game actions with appropriate skills.

The rules from the Waterbowl Site:

TV100 (& 100k for skills - these are separate pots of money)

4 rounds - Winter Weather, Teleporter, Play Your Cards Right, Clone Ball & Spuds Check!

Only Stunty Star players available (including the Waterbowl stars Gobby Stiles, The Thing From The Pit and Stick E Bunn)

Wizards are allowed

All teams can access these stars (and at the same price). Any team can access *all* stunty stars e.g. Goblins can purchase Puggy

Bribes and the Master Chef cost the same for all the teams (50 & 100k respectively)

Cards only available in the Play Your Cards Right round

Skills are chosen from the tiers below. You have 100k to spend on your skills. There is no extra charge for choosing doubles skills but each skill can only be chosen up to a maximum of twice on your team.

Tier 1 (40k per skill): Block, tackle, mighty blow, leader, claw, strip ball, sure hands, dodge, leader, guard, multi block, kick

Tier 2 (20k per skill): Diving tackle, break tackle, wrestle, sidestep, dauntless, catch, sprint, leap, accurate, pass, HMP, jugs, stand firm, big hand, prehensile tail, tentacles, foul appearance, 2 heads, dirty player, piling on.

Tier 3 (10k per skill): Fend, pass block, shadowing, diving catch, sneaky git, nerves of steel, safe throw, thick skull, disturbing presence, extra arms, very long legs, sure feet

------------

Thanks for your advice in advance.

Take care Dalfort.

I'd strongly consider giving 5 of your ogres piling on.

forgot to add, no stacking... I just cut and pasted the rules, but certainly a good start (also only 2 instances of a single skill) no consideration as to double or not.

2x piling on, tackle, and sure hands. All on Ogres.

Tackle ogre plays deep safety with a screen of Snots until he's needed to take down dodge ball carriers.

I've changed my mind. 5X piling on wins.

There is Leader Twice so I assume that is one of them :) I just cut and paste the rules over to here... I was thinking Sure Hands on an ogre, Strong Arm on another (again lacking in the list), Sure Feet on 2 Snots, Git on 2 more and dependant upon Strong Arm cost Juggs maybe.

I will contact the organisers and ask about Pro + Strong Arm.

Thanks for the feedback :)
