400 Games In!
Well, didn't take long did it?
Felt like yesterday I was posting about being 100 games in and looking forward to the future. Boy was it worth it. Still making some hilariously bad mistakes at times but I feel like my play is getting better all the time. A special shout out to all of you who have helped me with loads of useful advice as well as encouragement when on my legendary losing streaks ha ha.
Anyway, you guys know who you are and thank you so much. It's the community that keeps people around playing BB and I reckon it is a winner.
Well, the 400th game was a bit of a washout really. Activated my Box Khemri (Tomb Coast Crew) team and was drawn against some Dwarves. Anyway, my opponent decided that he didn't want all his guys killed... Can Khemri do that? ;). So he conceded with my Throw Ra one turn away from hopefully getting to 31 SPP. Sadly, because of the unfortunate timing of the concession he couldn't get there and someone else got MVP. Ah well...
Been playing in the Box recently which was something (I am not ashamed to admit) I didn't think I would do for a long time due to my lack of faith in my coaching ability. But I have been enjoying it. I guess like anything else, if your opponent plays in the right spirit with some good chatter then you will enjoy the game win or lose!
Now, I hope that I am improving so I think this may make for some interesting reading...
Here was the post from my first 100 games;
"P100 - W13 - D15 - L72.
Scoring: 51TDs for, 186 against.
CAS: FOR - 73/31/18. Against 118/70/30 (122-218 = -96!!). Glad I don't get sad when my players shuffle off the mortal coil!
CR: 137.38 (Apparently. This would have to be a contender for the bottom of the barrel! :P)
Team played with most wins? Nurgle 4W-2D-9L
Team with best rating? Norse 2W-1D-0L (CR: 153.22)"
Now what do things look like? Well, I will do a comparison with the 300 games after that!
P300 - W98 - 66 - 136
Scoring: 305TDs for, 369 against. (Feels like a massive improvement)
CAS: FOR - 276/159/65. Against 339/177/78 (500 - 594 = -94). So I guess that's an improvement? :P
CR: According to my coaches rankings my overall CR is 153.53. How this is the case when it is substantially higher than my Box or Ranked rating I do not know!. However, I think I am not so fussed about CR at the moment. Just having fun!
Team played with most wins? Khemri - 21/9/30 (Rating 145.27) with a 43% win percentage.
Team with best rating? Lizardmen in Ranked - 10/5/4 (Rating 152.05) with a 66% win percentage.
So anyway, whilst you can use stats to prove anything, I like to think I am slowly getting better. Each game teaches me a little something and I still love getting out there and moving some pixels around!

PS: Anyone reading this who is just starting out? Join the 145 Club. I cannot speak highly enough about how the environment and the coaches in there who help you out. Seriously, it is worth its weight in gold.

Clearly good progress and glad you're having fun. Your overall CR will tend to be higher than your Ranked or Box rating. I haven't bothered looking into the maths but basically there is a cumulative affect - the more you play, the more opportunity there is for it to go up, particularly whilst you are improving.
Black box isn't half as dangerous as many threads and the division description would have you believe - although some top coaches play there and some coaches in Box often have a keener eye towards the TV management of their teams(due to the TV matching element of the scheduler). The only thing is that if you are drawn against a nasty clawpomb side you have to play the game, but until you get a TV over 150ish this doesn't happen too much in my experience, so it is usually okay at least to start with!

I have played Dr Poods several times and its always a pleasure, for me playing against great guys like him is what makes the site for me. We came up through the 145 together and now look we just look to improve with every game. You're a top guy and I look forward to seeing you on the pitch again sometime. soon. Glad the stats are improving the most noticable one for me was the td's scored.

Ive recommend so many guys to go and play the 145 club. I have never played it, but I do see it worth. Many new guys get discouraged on here because they focus on winning. Id prefer to focus on having fun. I need a reminder of it every once in a while. So well done Dr.Poods on your 400th game. Hey what is a Pood anyways?
