mfl - my first Legend
this is a me-too-blog, although I haven't seen a mfl Blog for some days ;)

My first legend (at least as far as I know) is from one of my lizard teams - so far no surprise for everyone that takes a look at my played games.
What is a bit surprising though, is that it happened to a skink! in the BashBox no less!

Howard Goldtree (honorable Cherry) from my Green Cherries is an unusual skink from the first match on: one of very few journeymen skinks that got hired as a regular player, it got accepted because the crowd loved to see it play. To this day, often the daring play of the little one not only leads to a much needed TD under stress, but also to the crowd issuing it the title of MVP for the match. An almost elflike agility aside, it is a down-to-earth skink without any fancy special moves, maybe another reason that it is so well liked.

---

I'm fully aware that I'm dirty lucky to have this player survive this long (even though my skinks are generally surprisingly sturdy (not like the Saurus, that often forget their armor *sigh*) - but for once, the apos really liked this player, too) and I know that I may have jinxed it know. But I'm very proud of the little guy and quite happy that my first legend is neither an uberbasher (not that I have many of those...) nor a statmonster.

Howard rolled another normal skill for his legend skill... I'm not overly fond of any of the possible skills, I guess it will be a gut decision between Catch (make handover / short pass for a desperate one- or two turn score a tiny bit more likely) and Jump Up (for those occasions were a dodge failed or I once again didn't have enough player left to protect the ball carrier).

Awesome box skink. I would say catch. I regret not taking it. its very usefull for that one turn td where you may need the team re roll to pick up or gfi's in the same turn.

Surely has to be Jump Up?

First, it combos well with Diving Tackle - stop the ball carrier from getting away with a last ditch mark, then jump up and run away with the ball, and secondly, skinks only have their armour broken about 50% of the time. If the opponent is hitting your ball carrier, they've usually committed everyone, so having your full MB 8 would be useful.

That said, I've never had a +AG skink that didn't roll a double, so all this is pure theorybowling :).
