A conundrum, of sorts.
My local tabletop league is fast drawing to a close. This is the first BB2016 league I've played in and it's been an absolute blast. Between the pre-season, and the regular season my Dark Elves have gone 11-0-0, and I'm confident that I'll be able to sweep the playoffs, and win the season!

However, that's not my conundrum. My conundrum is that next season we're starting over. Fresh teams, a million gold. I'd like to play something competitive, but more challenging. Basically, I don't want to sweep the league two seasons in a row. At least not without having to work at it.

I was thinking Lizards, Pact, or... Underworld!

I can easily field any team, except Nurgle so I ask you of great FUMBBL hive-mind, what team should I run?

Underworld = fun, but challenging.

Look at yourself. You're a human. Name your players after your best friends and co-workers and kick some ass for the glory of your kind!

No to Lizards. They are a top tier team.

Underworld is fun, and can win you games.

A real challenge might be Vampires.

Pro elves.

You can go all out and win any game... But you also have to protect your key players for the long term league.

Fun!

But you can just do seasons and rebuy, it's in the rules! Surely someone must be using them?

Khemri, or for a real challenge go with vampires. Both would be fun.

Ogres!

Lizards are not gonna be a downgrade, at least not for the first season, especially with the new MVP rule. UW and Pact both should present more of a challenge, personally I'd prefer UW of those two. By the way, we're supposed to say Underworld Denizens and Chaos Renegades now. ;-)) I like The_Murker's suggestion of Humans, too. Those are also challenging but maybe have a bit more of a chance of still winning. On the other hand, if you went 11-0-0 with Darkies, maybe you should go full challenge mode and play Goblins?

Sounds like you need to convince your buddies to come play on FUMBBL and hone their skills. Nuffle knows, we need more NA coaches ... :(

I'd recommend something involving stunties - how about Underworld or Gobbos? You might not win as much with Gobbos, but they are hella fun to play :)

Vamps might also be fun and certainly challenging, as a rookie team.

I'd actually not considered Vamps, or Humans.

Though Pro Elf/Elven Union is really tempting...

Brand new Pro Elves vs all new other teams might do the same thing. Humans or Underworld would be more challenging than Vamps, in my opinion. Though I really like playing Vamps in my TT league and they are a challenge.
