Second Novel - New Team
Well, I've finished the manuscript for my second novel, Aethersmith, the sequel to Firehurler. As with my first book, I'm planning on making them a new team populated with the characters for the players.

For Firehurler, the decision was easy. The characters are predominantly human, so a human team was the way to go. Now though, I have a strong overlap of returning characters, and the new additions aren't making this potential roster any less human.

Now, me being less than a purist, I could justify stretching things a bit. I could branch out into some elves or something. Norse or pact are kinda humanish to begin with. Other wilder ideas might take some convincing, but I can be convinced.

What race should I make my new Aethersmith team?

(note: thanks to those of you who took an interest in Firehurler. Both books are available as .pdf downloads, which are free on their respective websites)

You mean you type words, lots of words, and then give those words to people to read for free? You get through that. Are these good words? We aren't grading you, I mean for credit that is, you know.

How/Why do you do this?

And thank you for doing it!

=D

Well, at some point these books will go on actual sale for real actual money. However, as an unpublished author, right now it's more important for me to have a lot of people reading my books than a few people buying them.

You get: access to new epic fantasy novels, free of charge.
I get: people interested and potentially telling others about them.

Win/Win.

(also still looking for ideas on a race for the new team)

Guess I have to read the book(s) before being able to give you any advice on team choice... ;-P

Question: As soon as I have subscribed to the page, I still need password for the download. Where (or when) do I get that? Is it done manually and therefor will follow once you find time?

We send out a password for the pdf. No one gets denied, but it's a precaution against pre-release copies getting flooded out into the world without us (my wife and I) knowing where they ended up.

(Rabe, you should have gotten yours sent to you)

You might also consider publishing them both through a Kickstarter campaign. It would bring in money for professional editing, cover illustration, and printing. Many of the books published there do quite well.

Kickstarter is a nice idea, and I might consider it.

I definitely did go to the trouble and expense of professional cover art and editing (I just had to shoulder the expense up front).
