The_Murker was very kindly doing logos if you donated to FUMBBL, he would be your best bet.

Qaz and Balle2000 are 2 others who are very good.

Use MS Paint. It's loads better then that overly complex Photoshop program. :D

Paints only useful if you have a square logo, if it isn't you can't do an invisible background. Also in some formats it loses detail.

My guess would be that he used live trace function in AI and then altered it once it was in vector.

If you your AI minor errors to the back at the end of the tail and at the point of the claw is a sign of live trace.

I could be wrong thou but thats is my educated guess.

The Chimera is cool thou. All thou I prefere slightly cleaner outlines than what live trace gives you. But once its the size we use for bb no one will notice its just me whos obsessed about details like that.

I found a vector version of the logo online and added the extras with the pen/vector tool in Illustrator. The outside border is messed up in places because I whipped it off in 20 minutes and didn't clean it up. As Qaz alludes to, when your outlines get really wide in vector small bumps and points go whacky and need cleaning. I only half cleaned it. I could probably fix it a bit more, but a smaller version will hide a lot of that.

P.S. I will dig up the URL for the site that has logos in vector format. Much easier to work with if you plan to modify your logos from pro sports teams.

I sometimes get in a graphical mood, but my logos are hackish and sometimes strange. Feel free to try me once in awhile to see what I create but I'm never offended if someone doesn't like my mashups.

Qaz, I like AI. Been using it since Illustrator 88. ;)
Also started on PS 1.0.

I've only got AI 10 on my crappy 10+ year old PC, but it does what I need it to for the most part. One day I will finally upgrade my machine and software.
