For some strange reason FUMBBL has started acting up for me. I can go to https://fumbbl.com fine but if I click on someones link like http://fumbbl.com it says there is a problem loading page and it doesn't work.
My Java has stopped working on FUMBBL.com too, I believe it is related to this in some way.
I haven't changed any of the settings on my laptop so have no idea why this would suddenly happen.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or have a solution?
Thanks. |

It happened to me last month.
It's the same on my phone so I doubt PC fixes will have any effect.
I did what you suggested and I restarted my PC a lot but it just randomly fixed itself a day later.
Is there a reason the Java runs from http://fumbbl.com and not https://fumbbl.com? |

Have you tried asking in the admin channel?
Most likely if you are having a Fumbbl specific problem they will have dealt with it in the past and will already know the right fix. |

hmmm strange, is your phone connecting via router when you are accessing the site, or does it happen when using 3G too? |

Aha 3g works so I guess its something to do with the router. Time to restart it over and over lol. |

Sorry I'm a little confused, the first post says you can't access http and the second says you cant access https, which one is it you are struggling with? I'm guessing you are being made to connect to http?
Anyway, the S stands for security, when connecting to a site with https it is communicating in secure code, so the problem is probably related to this.
Common fixes - are clearing cache and cookies which crap cleaner will do if you run it, disabling firewall (but I dont think you are using any which is good), check your browser security settings arent too high, and of course it could be a dreaded spyware problem.
edit: okay, could be router firewall settings are too high, or spyware. |

In my second post I meant why does the java connect to http://fumbbl.com.
As in the error report - <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<jnlp spec="1.5+" codebase="http://fumbbl.com/FFBClient/dist">
Restarted router no joy as of yet. |

have you changed any router settings?
do you have any anti spyware programs?
Also try connecting your phone via the router while your computer is switched off, then if it works try again while the computer is switched on, if it doesnt work then your computer is infected. |

This second "problem" is not really a problem as such. What happens when you start the client is this:
1. You click on a link (https://fumbbl.com/ffb.jnlp with some set of parameters)
2. Your browser requests the JNLP file from the server (JNLP = Java Network Launch Protocol).
3. The file is generated on the server as per your request (setting parameters based on what you're trying to do; start a game, spectate, etc)
4. Your browser downloads the .jnlp file to your computer (I'm sure you've seen this happening).
5. Your OS (Windows in your case I suspect) is configured to run .jnlp files with the Java Web Start executable, and launches that, sending the JNLP file to it.
6. Java Web Start opens the JNLP file and looks for the program you're trying to run.
7. The JNLP file has the path to the FFB client, which Java Web Start checks if you have cached on your computer already and downloads from the server if necessary. Note that this is NOT your browser anymore.
8. The Java program is started by Java Web Start.
Now, the error you get implies that your computer has trouble accessing http://fumbbl.com when you browse it, and the error you get from Java Web Start says the same. This in turn means that it's unlikely to be your browser that has problems, but the network itself.
Given that this works on your 3g network, and that your phone has the same problems (I'm assuming you have your phone set up on some kind of Wifi network when you do this) it further implies that the network is the problem and not your computer or phone.
My guess would be that something on your network is filtering http traffic (port 80). At worst, this would mean that no web traffic would work at all.
One possible way to resolve this would be to do a factory reset of your router, which usually involves pushing a paperclip into a tiny hole near the power cord, or holding down some button during powerup. Mind you, this would revert any change you have done to the router settings (your wifi network is likely to be inaccessable until you reconfigure it), so don't do this unless you know how to set this stuff up again. |

he already did that one.
As Christer says, hard reset of your router is the next step.
what type of BB connection is it? Fibre, or copper?
Out of interest who is your SP? |
