Now this is an interesting team with some excellent players. Four str 4 on elves is unusual and with two ag5, one of whom is also move 10 (though not quite a natural one turner as no sprint) no-one is going to want to have to beat them in a one-off match. However, they have a fragile look about them and are already carrying injuries as well as a lot of rookie linos and I suspect attrition will end their chances at some point. I'd sack the double niggler even though he is str 4, as he is a walking cas and then you are giving up less, or even getting more, inducements. The draw is going to be absolutely huge to their chances.

I like the 'luxury turfist'. Thanks for clarifying that one. Here we have another Chaos team sitting at too high a rating for what they have. They have a nice carrier, but are hugely reliant on the mino for damage - eek. Getting to round three as they are now would be a success.

I almost never play in these sorts of things, but I admit being attracted by the buzz this year. I've no idea how they'd overcome some of the teams in this thread, but I'd have to enter my Orcs. What chances, mystic oracle?

I could see you putting a good run together with either of the top two, but I'd steer clear of the chaos I think. The runners on the dwarf are very average, so despite the carnage that will protect them, I'd go with the chorfs who are efficiently built for that rating and will likely get inducements too.

I have always loved this team and I am amazed they have survived this long, however they are now really starting to show the scars of battle. In terms of skills, the blitzers are great, however minus armour on one makes it fragile and two minus ag massively reduces their leap potential. The str4 catcher is awesome but only move five. I would love to see this team win the cup (if I can't) but I'm afraid I think their best days are behind them.

Let's try it one last time. We've trained super hard this whole year to get in shape and even lately played a couple sparring games against some mildly annoyed newscasters for great pointers and tips.
We expect a generous skull rating or else we'll claim the missing skulls from your team when we face! |
This Chaos team are probably better off than some of the 200ish Chaos teams already reviewed, as at least they are going to have some inducements to play with. They have a very nice carrier, but little else, though another ag4 has potential and that dp could open some doors with some well used bribes. Despite the threat of personal violence, I have to give this team...

The first Amazon team we have seen and a really nice one too. Three agility four and a superb agility five are well complemented by good, general players. Added to that they are coming in at 207, so they should get inducements against the better teams, and this team has a lot of potential. The winning record is obviously concerning, but I have a feeling that this is an improving coach so I'm going to take that record with a pinch of salt. Amazon always have the potential to just get crushed, but with a fair draw, this team could well go a few rounds.

A nicely built Orc team, who while not spectacular, are very efficient. Such teams can win trophies as long as inducements are spent wisely, they have some luck when needed and they are well coached. I have no concerns about the first or last of these so if they get a decent draw and reasonable luck, there is no reason why they can't go on a deep run. With three tackle they might come a cropper against fat elves, however at least two of those come with mb which might be enough. I will watch their progress with interest.

Another excellent coach with a very interesting elf team and a previous winner no less. The elves are coming in at a surprisingly low 203, though they have two mng, including a very good catcher, so around 230 is their actual rating when all fit. Surely you can find a bunch of suckers, I mean a competitive game, in ranked before Wed to get those guys back whilst remaining intact. The catchers are great, they have two mb, three guard and two ag5. Again, no-one wants to face this team in a one-off game. I'm going to assume they play a match and get those guys back, otherewise a nasty first round draw and the dream could be over before it begins.

An inability to beat average Lizard teams coached by luckers is an obvious concern, but this is a really nice lizard team with a very good coach and they have to be considered a contender. All good lizard teams need the bulk of the skills to be on the saurus' and krox, with an ag4 skink to carry ideally, and this team has all that. The Krox is excellent and dodge gives him roaming potential too which might catch some coaches out. The saurus are very well built with a good variety of skills and there is very little wasted tv. This team remind me a lot of Hell's Pavement just before the GLT, before they had to start carrying randoms with saws. I'm calling it - this team are right in the mix.

I just don't have any other team big enough with anything to offer, so we'll go with leap.
