Ok, so my Treeman Quickbeam has rolled 2+2 for his Emerging Star skill-up.
Now this Tree likes to score, so I ask you all...

What should he choose?

Dodge is the obvious choice, but keep in mind Halfling Treeman CAN use re-rolls so think outside of the box.
He's been very lucky on skill-ups so far, so this may be the last special roll he gets!

My thoughts on his skill path are:
Dodge
Break Tackle
Juggernaut

I'd love to hear others opinions though.

Edit: Please visit the link to the actual player BEFORE giving your opinion. Thanks Exclamation

Supposing you want him to be a 3/6/2/10 ballcarrier:

Block: -2D needs 1/12 to bring him down instead of 1/6 (without strip ball)
Catch: Handover will be succesful 3/4 instead 1/2
Sprint: More reach

As you can buy RR for catch and sure feet I would go Block or Sprint.

Congratz for the skill Very Happy

You only have 3 options.

Block or pro or pass.

Anything else is a waste.

Well based on the fact that you want Quickbeam to be a scorer and not a basher then I think that you want to take sprint over dodge.

Reasons makes the tree potentially ma6, you are more likely to roll a normal next in which case you take break tackle which is used for the needed dodge out. If you luck out again with another double you can take dodge or maybe sidestep. Sidestep would increase the movement shenanigans if someone decided to try and hit you.

Of course you will be vulnerable to taking root and the wrestle striipballers out there. But then it will be fun to see a treeman in a cage of halflings.

Best of luck.

Now if only Painstate would appear w/ his lengthy & percentage detailed opinion on optimal skills for scoring Treemen...

I don't think adding sidestep will be that good. I'd rather give sprint now, then pro on second doubles, since both the root and the gfis will eat his rerolls, and you'll often want to keep trying after using it. Also, pro helps him intercept! (which of course helps him score too)

I think Dodge as it helps with both scoring and defence, it lessens the need for block, and then break tackle may well follow soon.
p.s. Does break tackle now work on dodge rrs or only the first roll?
