I agree, why show it on TV. Why zoom in on his face, why does ALL the newspaper sites show his face laughing?
Why give him his 15 minutes again. It is not like society has something to learn.

Can remember how the images of the flower march they held, sent cold shivers down my spine. Honestly hope Norway never has to face such dark days again. :(

As repulsive as it may be, the ones who glorify it would have anyway. For the rest of the world it is a reminder that these wackos are out there, and the hate and bigotry isn't just idle ranting for some.
I can only hope that some of the race/religion-baiting blowhards out there take a moment to stop and consider the consequences of the philosophy they spew. They may not be guilty in the legal sense, but they are certainly part of the problem.
(I would bet that 90%+ of what that guy "knows" about Islam is propaganda he heard through hate-group media outlets)

its being put on television because people who are already watching won't turn it off and people who wouldn't normally watch are tuning in, i.e. a net gain in ratings.
if you're really that disgusted, the solution is quite simple, turn it off

Manson got on TV, Dahlmer got on TV. It's just information being made public. Not obscene, just aggravating. Gotta spoon feed the masses something to argue about! Here in the USA we're just arguing about George & Trayvon (and will be for a couple of years).
I think I'll just watch hockey :)

On the one hand, they seem to give Brevik what he wants: publicity and a stage to perform. It is certainly not desired to give him that satisfaction.
But looking at the big picture, I think it is the right thing to do as this trial is not really about Brivak but to prove the wrongness of the arguments he lays out in his "manifest" and which in great part for the heart and soul of the "new right" movement. That is why politicians, political and social scientists and even islamists will speak as attesters in this trail.
I think it is important to disarm some of these prejudices. Otherwise right-wing extremists might use this for their benefits and play the "censorship-card".
I firmly believe that Brevik will be a free man again someday as he is not that old at age 33. Therefore I think it is more important to diffuse the ideas he stands for.

I wonder why it has to take so long for trails. He is guilty, no question, just drop him in a hole and let him rot.

dunno about the legal system in norway, but its probably similar to elsewhere. and its good that there's no such thing as fast-track trials
