Interesting to read that people are starting to question the million games prizes and the birthday fun. Much has been said already in the forums about the team pimping for the WO, but as for the potion? Broken? Nah.

Consider what each coach having a potion actually means to life in general. It means (quite literally), that over time you can heal one player of all injuries. Is that broken?

At first glance, a coach might think to himself, "Well - I have this niggled +ST +AG legend that I've been questioning if I should sack or not, but now yay! He's free of injuries!". But hold on just a second. A legend, eh? That's 176spp+ and a whole bunch of TR. In an open environment such as [R], that's only going to get you tougher games thanks to your hero, your hero that now has a great big 'KILL ME! KILL ME!' target on his bonce. You're going to feel a right plonker if your super healed legend can only get you a game against TR350 Chaos and you're playing to keep him alive and forgetting about the ball. Actually in [R], the potion may be a hindrance! In a closed league, I can see the potions being a problem. The schedules aren't open, and it doesn't matter what TR your team is, your fixture list is laid out anyway. To a certain extent, TR hogs are welcome as they can change games. However, admins of leagues can make rulings on this, it's the same for everyone, and the cute little icon that pops up on the player's bio will stop any wrong-doing.

So, what is the smart use for the potion? I think the smartest use will be to save it until needed to win a game. Imagine being in the semi-final of a Major tournament, having won the game, but a T16 meaningless block niggles your 51spp +ST star Wardancer. You'll be needing him in the final - right? The author of the blog entitled 'Potions! The apocalypse of cheating is nigh!' (or something along those lines) may perhaps scoff at what I'm about to say - but Majors have never been fair. They aren't about the best coaches taking teams that grew up in blackboxed environments slugging it out. They have always been (to a certain extent) the grounds of the teambuilder. The powergamer. The [R]anked uber alles. And as such, hell, let 'em potion away, I'll be in the stands, and my rock will have a new, shiney target.

Potions then - a force for good. Please, heal that 200spp megastar monster. I've a 6spp DP Zombie that wants to say hello!
