Real Life Blood Bowl! Albania vs. Serbia!
Blood Bowl will be delighted to hear we got one step closer to adoption as a real life sport during Albania vs. Serbia UEFA qualifier last night! The closely fought contest featured Pitch Invasion, Riot, fans throwing flares and other foreign objects onto pitch, melees between players, and some mysterious spoiler distracting and provoking the Serbian team and fans with a provocative drone!

Read all about it here

Wasn't that more like a week ago?

You're right sorry the UEFA ruling was yesterday

Bunch of barbarians, i am glad i dont live in either of those countrys...
Posted by vaclav on 2014-10-24 13:12:25
And the most funny part was when some guy in direct tv report jumped in front cameras calling serbian prime minister a fag. That was my favorite part. All in all total surealism.

Mmm, I can see how a lot of irrationality and racism can spawn a response where even normal people start to get sucked in, being alienated from what the other side does.

TBH the only thing that I have been trying to grasp my head around is why the hell this Albanian player charged at the Serbian player to protect the flag.
It's not that it was essentially a nazi flag, or who send it on the pitch but why in the world would a player allow himself to get associated with an event that caused the interruption of a game.

It kinda changes the dynamic from 2 countries peoples hate for each other being uncontrollable to a national team that is actively advocating racism and conquest in an official capacity.

Of course Serbia is the probably only country where something like this would get out of control like this, but in the news the actual issue has been adressed very little and in the report of the FIFA decision you linked kinda neither.
It seems the media are kinda siding with Alabania on this.

I mean it is really not the issue something was flown into the stadium or interrupted the game either. These things happen. People throw things, all kinds of stuff happens. Or that the fans were chanting racist slurs. But seriously, what was the guy thinking? Why, what could he possibly think in that moment and why did nobody bother to ask or interview him or write something about it?
All I read was a statement from a teammate that he was ACTUALLY trying to protect the flag. I mean that is the weirdest most insane thing I have ever heard about a football game in my life. I mean WTF?
Somebody explain it to me please.

And Albania can't figure why Januzaj chose to play for Belgium....
Posted by vaclav on 2014-10-24 13:51:38
It wasnt even Albanian national flag, It was flag of imagnitive "Greater Albania" with some national characters(which i am sure, 100% of spectators are cluelees who those caracters were). Like, if someone relised flag of third reich or something. And the bull only needs red flag to charge, and by that i ment about both sides.

I think that we here are ready for some little war again, just a little kill and rape and pillage, so the desire can pass.

I mean, the FIFA decision I sort of don't get from the other angle.
FIFA charges ALbania for the abortion of the game because they refused to continue playing and that stupid drone.

But objectively speaking they should have been well within their rights to abandon the game fearing for their lives. The pictures really didn't look like they had no need to be worried. And the drone could have been very well manuvered by a Serbian. So it really only all comes down to how the players acted.

"And the drone could have been very well manuvered by a Serbian"- Ye, thats the fun part that could be truth.

Hooligans, sport clubs, politicans, football associations, secret services, narco clans are all connected and nothing is how it looks. Whole thing could be verry likely Serbian internal connflict.
Posted by Wreckage on 2014-10-24 14:16:38
Yeah, but if I was Albanian, why would I get involved? All I have to do is wait it out and let them take the blame.
Posted by vaclav on 2014-10-24 14:17:32
We got this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukKFx_Yo1j4, and he interupted the match in djenova, and he is also here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SytTf2jh19Q. Its not even forbbiden to him to "watch" football on stadiums.
Posted by vaclav on 2014-10-24 14:18:42
Because he is a hero in his own country now.
Posted by vaclav on 2014-10-24 14:20:58
Yes, u would say its its childlish, but you play a dice game with elves, dwarfs and goblins:)
Posted by Wreckage on 2014-10-24 14:29:21
I don't think any of the 'normal' people in Albania will consider him a hero for doing what he did.

At the end of the day he is just a football player who cost his team 3 points and 3 goals in a single game..
Posted by pythrr on 2014-10-24 19:52:56
err, which 'him' are you talking about Wreckage? Bogdanov is a notorious SERBIAN hooligan.

Andi Lila, Taulant Xhaka, Bekim Balaj... I dunno take your pick. Crazy people.
Posted by Wreckage on 2014-10-24 20:45:34
I think it was Andi Lila who started this. Not 100% sure as I can't tell from the faces.
Posted by pythrr on 2014-10-24 21:21:23

nutters.

i feel insulted to have my precious blood bowl likened to a complete pansy sport like soccer
Posted by DeZigma on 2014-10-24 23:52:50
As you play this game with your feets it is called football! But that's a totaly different story!

Btw... The most interesting thin g is ...
What would happend if the drone would have made a goal? Does it counts?

It sure was dramatic, but political, religious and similarly contentious topics are best discussed somewhere else then fumbbl.
