Thanks for everything you've done for the community. Best of luck for whatever thing you decide to set yourself on, in you put the dedication and passion you've put on fumbbl through the years, you're going to get lots of satisfactions.

Personally, I don't get it. I read all 20+ unentertaining pages until it was thankfully locked, and all I saw were less than a dozen guys kind of debating the significance of Amazon miniatures. The guys who seemed to have a slightly controversial viewpoint don't even speak English. If they did, they would have been better in their attempts to agree with everyone else that Fumbbl should be female friendly, and that girls are cool.

Nobody should be surprised IF a female coach here had a bad experience. So did I. He was called lizvis. But he did not represent the other dozens of forum posters, and CERTAINLY not the hundreds of coaches playing games respectfully every day.

It's a sad loss if that weak thread somehow cost us a valuable member. Can we ask which part?

To me this seems like the reaction of some one who is stressed out about lots of things or something else much bigger. The reaction is disproportional to the "cause". It's a pointless thread and tbh I rarely read any threads at all unless they are specifically about blood bowl tactics or skills; most other stuff gets hijacked by people in need of love and attention :-)

I run a website for yahtzee and we have things like this all the time. It seems to be a life cycle of a community and then I look outside my window and see neighbours arguing for the umpteenth time. As soon as there's a birthday party it's all forgotten : ) I think it's normal even if it's irritating.

I am sure you'll play again at FUMBBL at some point, in the meantime make sure you have fun and don't roll any ones when you're walking down the stairs.

As as long the douchecanoe ratio* remains fairly low on the forums and said douchecanoes keep most of their opinions there and not in the in game chat I don't see the problem. If you ran away from every pillock in life you would live your life on the run.

Don't leave. This is just the world, insulating oneself from differing opinions never helped anyone. Try and learn to respect others have diffrent opinions, you don't have to like them, take any notice or even leave them unchalleged if you want but leaving a site because people don't all think the same is a bit extreme when the main aim of this site is playing Blood Bowl and talking about it.

The only thing that would really make me quit the site is if a few people started camping exclusively cpomb teams in the Box during my peak playing time to the point where I couldn't ever get a game without having a strong chance of meeting them over and over again.

Slightly overreacting I'd say. The thread was pretty solid, with some disagreeing and convincing. Mostly mature stuff but at the end it was mostly one person vocalising silly stuff (although at one point even making sense after saying what looked like silly stuff but then starting saying other silly stuff).

That thread was digusting Renton I totally agree. A few reasoned opinions aside (especially Endzone and Reisender), I was horrified at the opinions of many FUMBBL coaches, sadly including many prominent ones.

What is doubly depressing is that all that thread needed was someone to say something like 'Sorry to hear of your experiences, at least on FUMBBL nobody need know which sex you are, and abusive comments in game are rare. Anything like that is totally unacceptable and would be acted on by our Admins'. Instead we got pages of sad, old sexually-frustrated and misogynistic men making excuses for their sorry personalities. It definitely lowered my opinion of the community here too, although I know there are loads of decent coaches on here. But that hobby shop abuse to her (and I can't even express it here it was so disgusting) - good grief how did so many coaches defend it as acceptable? Or defend those sad, misogynistic miniature ranges of naked/semi-naked women (which I've commented on before) - how is a woman supposed to join a Blood Bowl community dominated by men with attitudes like that?

I have a young daughter and after reading that thread I've come to the sad realisation that there is absoltutely no way I'll let her play the game. There are just too many sad, misogynistic perverts out there.

Yesterday I revisited that thread (to page 12, don't have the patience for the rest, it's still painful reading) and found it a pretty reasonable discussion for the most part, albeit highly painful to read given the idiocy of the topic. I also came to the conclusion that the people overreacting with such judgemental attitudes (such as DrDeath and unfortunately akaRenton) had jumped to conclusions. For example the 13 yr old girl and the OP are likely not the same person. The OP isn't necessarily even female (some of you may have inside info on this). In other words those who were appalled by certain people's callous reactions to a victim's story are on a completely different wavelength from those who read the OP's post as that of a young, immature, virtue-signalling, politically active leftist troll. Azure for example has personal experience in support of the latter view. Also, as I discovered yesterday, someone with the OP's handle posts prolific gender-issue, politically-left, and anti-theist screed on answers.yahoo.com.

The other angle, re: scant-clad figs, is debateable but much over-wrought. I'd never use them personally but can see their appeal. It's just maturity levels really. People can often be children, especially 30+ adult males who still play games for a hobby (I include myself in this). If it offends you, fine, just realize you are more sensitive than most people and that's at least partly your own problem.

If my own post in that thread offended you, Rents, I apologize for it. I wish you all the best in your new married life.
