= GAMEWEEK 9 ROUND-UP =

In five games' time, we'll know for sure who will make the play-offs but, for now, only a couple of teams are out of the running for the Champions Cup. For the majority of teams, there is still all to play for.

= STAR PLAYER POINTS =

A week of very slim pickings, concerning SPP as only two players managed more than the basic requirements for commendation:

Whilst a case could be made for Mudshredda, this week saw Skogg Eargrinda match a 2-season record for most fouls in one match for the Mount Gunbad Big 'Uns. Rukzit the Menace's astounding record lasted just two weeks and the mind boggles as to how many more fouls might be committed by this pair before the season is finally done with.

Coach Wilson's luck finally turned, making life hard for Growfair's Steel Claws. It was a first win in 4 matches, which gives Wilson a slim advantage over HeirOphant and his Gutrippers who also bagged 16 SPP in one game but whose results were better over recent weeks.

The Gutrippers lived up to their name with ruthless efficiency, removing three key Brutes in the first two turns before scoring just before the break. It looked like a horribly one-sided match, with Coach Axpert suffering from his players' clumsy dodges and slippery hands. However, he clawed it back and put on a valiant defensive performance, before the Estalians sealed the match at the death. A close game that could have easily been very swingy against the Bretonnians, were it not for their experienced (or is that Ax-perienced) coach.

= IN MEMORIAM =

For every winner, there must be a loser and, to give them their (final) moment in the limelight, we recognise those players who left us this week:

Skragga (Bretonnian Brutes) - this powerful black orc was modest with his strength, inflicting just one casualty in his short 8-game career. Sleep tight, big guy.
