Reward
I have had two of my most rewarding BB experiences up to date in the last two days. Firstly I was looking for a buildup game with my GLT team and agreed to an offer with a coach whose team's bio said he would not foul unless his opponent did. Yes you cannot agree on in game events; we didn't discuss this. Yes this is lame, but let me finish.

He kicked, I didn't foul, he waited till an opportune moment arose and gangfouled my star. Good for him? Maybe. Good for his team? No. I cleared the pitch, the first time ever for me, killed his ogre, and niggled a +MA 2 doubles player. Oh and I won, despite wizardry and general treachery. The lessons? I like hard games (was down 14 TS and a Handi), but I knew that.

I don't wanna play with pansies or pretend pansies again. I am gonna win. That's how I am gonna play, to win, no nonfouly, no nonstally, no kidding I am gonna mess you up. But enough self discovery (bleh, puh, gross, self discovery, yech!!)

The second rewarding experience was with a new coach. I told him if he played my team (8TS disadvantage for me and 2 new teams) he was gonna lose, but I'd give him some advice. Well enjoyably enough, he was already a decent BB coach (not Fumbbl good but decent) and we discussed the site and coloured the game with commentary. He crippled my new team, and I won, we both had fun. Now I feel like I helped us (the community) out cause this coach will be an excellent addition and didn't get screwed in his first game.

I checked academy channel just now and it was all experienced coaches. Maybe just the channel and not the division would suffice to introduce people to the community? We could help more people more efficiently for them and us, as well as make clear that behaving like a person is the Fumbbl norm (which it should be).

Nice blog - I'd be wary of telling anyone I'm going to win. Just asking to be diced :)

You like hard games?

14 TS down and a handicap sounds like a really hard match. Until you realize, that you have orcs and are playing TR250 norse coached by a noob. Then it's just a giant cherrypick.

Clearing the pitch against 13 norse is really hard for TS235 orcs.

Kudos on helping the new guy. That is blog worthy.

"Fumbbl norm"... hah :)

His bio says tht he'll foul when he gets fouled. He doesn't say that he will ONLY foul when he gets fouled. It's like "when you foul me, I'll defenitely do the same to you", which says nothing about his behaviour when you don't foul him. So, I would suggest to call him intentionally misleading but not a liar.

Circ: you're right of course it wasn't a ridiculously hard match to win, except for the surprise factor on the fouling and the wizard. Now that you put it in perspective and I reflect a little it would probably more accurate to call it tense than either a "hard" or "giant cherrypick". No matter what the difficulty of the circumstances it was still the first pitch clearing for me and I was glad of the timing:)

@Tamzanian. You have a point with those semantics. However, don't half ass research if you are going to bother: "Now preparing fir next major i win't foul expect if you foul me" is what is written in the team's bio, now perhaps you could say that the spelling errors obscure his meaning but I will call him a liar, I think quite correctly.

About the academy channel, at the very least we should direct new coaches there and maintain the idling "giants of Fumbbl" that I saw there last night (shameful to admit but even communicating with Circ taught me a few things whilst I was a noob :).

Shame on me, you're absolutely right! That was a paradigm of half ass research. Especially since you referred to his TEAM'S bio.

lol no shame :) it's almost always good to see coaches defending others as attack is sooo much easier.
