Rating other coaches has been suggested now and then, but is not a good thing. |

Yea public blacklisting is not alloved anymore.
Tho usually all know the toxic people we have here.
If you dont spot them on games, reading game comments usually give em away. |

Any public ranking of sportsmanship or something similar has the potential to be abused, and/or taken over by a small group of people who have an agenda, or are convinced they have the moral high-ground. Amazing as it is, the FUMBBL forum or DISCORD does seem to become a popularity contest at times, in some people's eyes. Such is the internet these days, but this community is FAR better than most.
If I have a great interaction, or a poor interaction with a coach these days, I often cut/paste the chat into the game comments. I always check the previous times I have played someone before I open the client, and checking a game replay that has a match report with the chat is a fast way to remind me if that coach is a fun guy to chat with, or a coach who can't even manage a 'gratz' after an opponent scores.
I like to chat with the fun coaches, and I'm learning not to waste too much effort with those that don't make any effort themselves. It works for me. |

In fairness the concept could be honourable and have positive intentions, the reality I am sure would not be the outcome that had been desired. We can all believe what we want and record our own notes in a book or word document for our own referral. |

Yes of course we can react with indifference to those legendary BoneHeads Champion's Virility who writes pearls of wisdom inside the game chat or forum rooms...
But's it's not much fun
|
...where did they hurt you?
as stated before, such system can be exploited.
what are you actually aiming for? a list of luckers? luck come and go, and it's a wild swing. people fouling in T16?
people you lose to?
great. heat this: we all make a snot team and if we win a match, we have to play a rematch, the winning coach playing snots that can't buy incentives.
now that's wild. |

«I've seen things.. (in specs chat) you people wouldn't believe...»
if you want me to be honest, I was mainly thinking about what is written in the game chat. And I wasn't just thinking of a 'blacklist' but a real ranking of fairplay from best to worst. But I honestly don't think there is an objective way to create it. We can't expect site administrators to watch all the games and then make a judgement/ranking on fairplay.
This is possible for sports where there is a "human" referee who can report at the end of the game whatever. Not here
Agree that fairplay points based on specs voting or other coach is unrealistic / can be abused
Whatever... it was a midsummer's dream. |

Perfect example of gentlemanliness and fairplay
I spectated a match between two top 30 coaches a Legend and a Megastar. Wood Elf. The Megastar wins on penalties in a somewhat fortunate way: The draw in regular times i think at the end fair: both had their moments of bad luck, good luck [double 1 on the pick up by megastar (unluck) which prevented 1TTD; a series of 1s by Legend that drained his rerolls poll (unluck), Megastar scored his offensive drive with a series of 3+ 2+ 2+ 2+ 2+ (luck) after removing a SS-Tackler-Blodge WE marking ballkeeper with 2D and make a Pow (luck) and Legend Coach removed the Megastar Legend WE with 1D pow (luck)]...
If I have to be honest i appreciated more the Legend's Coach positioning and defense, but well...In all honesty, I think the draw was fair, at this level of play often the result is due to some episodes (as there are no catastrophic errors by such coaches)surely no one deserved to lose this game.
It is at it is, after Megastar Coach won 3-2 by Penalties here is his greetings message to Legend Coach opponent (in front of 5 or 6 spectators):
"in the end I should have won 3-2
if I hadn't had that pick up snake
so I didn't steal anything
totally deserved win for me"
It's perfectly legal to pose as a blowhard or champions of virility (maybe against some friends I do when I play tennis with my best friend but we've been playing each other for 20 years...and we tease each other we have fun - even - like this ) I don't know if these two coaches are very friendly enough to afford such things. I don't think so since Legend Coach didn't reply to this gem (a part gg good bye and so on).
So in general when you decide to chat this to someone who is top 10 in the (deserved) rankings it is enough comic (I dare not say disrespectful to the ranking because many will object that the ranking says nothing, but if you usually stay in the top 10 maybe something means).
It's like if in Tennis Musetti winning a Wibledon final against top 1 Sinner 7-6 6-7 7-6 6-7 10-8 and at the end of the game during the handshaking close to the net is telling him
"well yeah ... I should have won 3-0 if that ball didn't go over the line"
I can't report them, they don't break any site rules.
... But.... perhaps carving these (anonymous) shootings in marble will serve to make them a little ashamed of their outsized egos
In case s.o want to know more send me PM i can send link of the game. |

Trying to make the site friendlier and more enjoyable for all is a worthwhile goal, even if it's not a practical one. |

While I don't think this particular implementation would be good, when coaches are jerks to other coaches, especially new ones on a site where new coaches already lose a lot, it can drive them away. If we can nake the site friendlier, that is a good thing. |
