Dwarves for Eurobowl - Training and painting
I have decided to take Dwarves to Eurobowl this year instead of Necromantic. Necros took a beating in this years rules by not getting thath extra 20k which was actually pretty important. Now you lose something important, one positional player or a TRR or a bench player. You could still take a Leader but you lose a good skill on one of your positionals. Previous years I played with 1 ghoul and 1 bench player and 3 TRR. Now it would be with 2 TRR and a Leader if I'd want to go with whatever setup. I could get 2 ghouls and a bench also but I have to take the 3rd reroll as a leader. Not that bad actually when I think about it. But there is something that I don't like about the idea of taking leader instead of maybe block or wrestle or guard. 3 RR is also something I think is very important. With 2 I feel short.

But enough rambling about Necros and (poor, boo!, hiss!,) rules changes for now. I am taking Dwarves this year. Our team should now comprise only of tier 1 teams if someone doesn't go nuts the week before :D. I also think we have the strongest team so far, so I have high hopes that we get a better result than before in past Eurobowls.

I don't yet have a dwarf team myself but I bought some cool looking old school Warhammer and other miniatures online that I am going to convert and paint with TIME that I still have. Some of you might have read my older posts where I wrote that I am usually very late when it comes to painting a full team of miniatures. I usually paint the last day and night right before I have to leave, then I sleep maybe 4 hours before I have to wake up :D. This time I will start immediately when the miniatures arrive.

The next part in this journey involves training with dwarves. I have played quite some games, but I think I am still far off on how dwarves should be played. I am thinking that a 2-1 grind is the best option for dwarves against a fast agile team. Make them go offense and make them score fast and then score yourself twice. Against bash teams 1-0 win is maybe the most likely situation to happen (assuming I win of course). I score and they don't or vice versa depending on who goes first.

The next post will come when I get my miniatures and they are based ready for paint!
