Well, I finally got another chance to enter one of the Fummbl tournaments. I had to trim back a team I was developing for a while, my dwarf team named after my screen nickname. This is the 2nd attempt at this team, as the last one was dismantled and subsequently retired after a massive fouling bout with a horrid opponent.

Such is the luck of the draw here on Fummbl, but this team has been rather special. A runner with 2 Strength increases has really added a new dimension to this team.

Round 1: Feb 3, 2008: vs. Padfoot, a Wood Elf team coached by: calon.

This was a tough match for calon as the dice rolls he needed to make at critical points just fell through. Also, my dwarfs seemed extremely sure-handed and managed to catch almost every bouncing ball that came their way. Still, I played a loose swarm style defense that forced the woodies to roll more dice than they wanted to. On table-top, it may not have been near as effective, but with the fummbl-dice-generator, ones and skulls are always a sure thing to count on. Calon was a good sport and we eneded up winning the match 2-0.

Round-2: vs. Zankóku, a human (female ninjas!) team coached by: boruppeter.

First of all, this is a nicely themed team. As they are ninjas, almost every player has mighty blow. Though if you look at the pictures of the players, Mighty Blow could mean something else...LOL!

This was a tight match, and even though the ninja-girls scored 5 casualties on the dwarfs, with some ingenuity and some luck, I was able to steal a win from a classy opponent. I'd love to play this coach and team again in another format. I also recommend checking out the pictures of the players. I enjoy themed teams and custom pictures, but when they are hottie ninja chicks, that's even better.
